I'm Josh from southeaster ky. Going tomorrow to see about trading in my 04 gmc sierra for an 04 ram srt 10 regular cab. it's silver with 17,000 miles and they are asking 25,000. is this a good price. what are the pros and cons of owning one of these trucks. I will be using it for a dailey driver and about 4 days a week i have a 120 mile round trip to work. I love these trucks and if i can get what i want out of my ride i might trade for it. I was hoping the original owner was on this site so i could ask him a couple questions.
new from ky. Looking to buy tomorrow.

I'm outta lexington. my truck is basically stock just a drop kit, cai, and cat delete. I get roughly 11 mpg's around town and 19 drivin on interstate. as far as miles they're gonna rack up eventually so you might as well do it. besides thats why you buy the truck isn't it. so drive the crap outta it
Thats pretty good mileage. I said the same thing about putting miles on my current truck when i got it. it's an 04 with 125,000 but i've enjoyed the hell out of every mile. I know if i get the srt 10 i'll enjoy it even more. If i am able to get it we'll get em together sometime.BAD-RC said:
Josh, check the clutch by driving at 50 mph in 5th gear...stomp on it...if it accelerates nicely fine...if the engine rev's with out much go...it will be time for a CenterForce clutch...about $1500...
Check the Slave/Master cylinder...give it pretty good throttle in second gear and hit third hard...several times...if you have trouble getting into third you can also replace the slave/master cylinders with Viper parts when you replace the clutch.
Most importantly, check the center bolt on the harmonic balance, 04's have an issue with the bolt coming loose which can require a new crank shaft!
But use these issues to negotiate to about 21 or 22k...hope you buy it.

I just left the lot. First time i got a chance to look at the truck in daylight and it is beutiful. I like it even more now. They took my truck for a spin and checked it out good and they are gonna call me when they figure something out on a price for my truck. I'm just worried about how much they are willing to give me on mine. i owe about 10 grand and i think it is worth that but to them probably not.

Hey thats like this saturday and I revived the thread 3 or 4 time..........no interest generated. Then the crazy Japanese company I work for decided to make us work saturday.
