New from Montreal, buying a 05 SRT-10 CE

Greetings follow Vipers,

I’m new and I’m from Montreal, Canada.

I’m looking into purchasing a 05 SRT-10 CE at MotoExotia.com in St. Louis, MO. The said vehicle is titled but has only 48 miles and still has all the factory stickers on the windows. The negotiated price is around 37.5K US.

I prefer the 05 due to the 4.56 axle. I’m aware the asking price is very high.

Two things that are making me nervous: a lot of members are selling regardless of the poor market, and the current market – what’s with that? :dontknow:

Can anyone advise me? Is this a good deal? Does anyone know about this particular vehicle at MotoExotia? This vehicle was originally titled in PA.

If you look in the for sale section on the forum, you will see several members selling their trucks, some supercharged and with visual/performance upgrades already included in the asking price, which is in the same range as the CE you are looking at. Although I have to admit a CE is a beautiful color truck. Its really up to you, best of luck!

I think they may be trying to get a few extra bucks because it is a CE, it's up to you whether or not you are willing to give a little extra for that. The CE is a really nice truck though.

Sounds like someone might have bought it as a collection piece and then changed their minds, we have seen that here too.

And it is true that there are quite a few for sale, things happen and people change their minds or get uncomfortable with the cost of the vehicle, or they trade for something else they see that they like, like vipers. It happens.

Good luck! If you buy one of these, I doubt that you will be disappointed.
 
I personally if i had to do all over again i would buy one from someone in this forum- the savings on all the mod's is well worth the price you would pay otherwise.
 
I would also buy from someone here if I could do it over. Save $5,000 or more, get free upgrades, and buy from a private seller. Are there tax or other issues with importing it into Canada that the dealer can help with? That might be the only reason I would buy from a dealer if you will have importation issues to deal with otherwise.
 
The dealer is helping with the taxes at the border. Anyone selling in Canada?

Most of the ones being sold in Canada are at a much higher price then any truck you'll be able to get in the states..! It sucks but with our dollar so high right now it's worth the extra bit of work to save 5-10g's. :)

Oh and welcome to the forum, us canucks really are starting to take over. :)

it definitely is a nice truck, but i would also look at one of the others for sale, welcome to the forum
 
I would concur with those who've mentioned Dave's and other rigs on the forum....

More bang for the buck... But, on the other hand.... no "hands on" before you buy...

With regard to those selling their trucks in a soft market, I can only say that with around 2000 people represented, there's going to be a broad range of reasons why folks are "getting out" of their trucks.... They need the money for something else.... They're tired of their SRT-10 and want a Viper Coupe, They're kids need the bucks for college, gas prices are still too high... the list is a long one.

I do encourage you to take it for a nicely aggressive test drive and determine for yourself whether or not you're really in love with this truck... Then ask yourself if you will get tired of it soon or not....

Welcome to the forums...and as stated there are a lot of great trucks here for sale in the Buy/Sell section. Certainly get more bang for the buck that route.:rock:
I agree with Django... get out and drive before you buy if you can... I had the chance to drive 2 of them before I picked up the one I have now... it was the second one I drove....and they oddly drove a bit different... seems like there are no two that drive exactly the same...for whatever reason.:dontknow:

Salut Hellboy...The SRT 10 truck is BADASS...I got mine only 2 weeks ago evrytime i ride it freaks me out...Very happy...You will not be dissappointed...
