Just bought a brand new 04, yes 04 brand new Black Reg Cab. Found it sitting on a dealers lot. Walked in, showed some interest. Walked out very happily. Very cheaply too I might add.

How do I go about figuring out what number my truck is? Thanks in advance.

First, Welcome to the RBC....second, stingray knows all, PM him and third, a new '04 RC from Louisiana? I hope its not a Rebuilt Katrina Leftover...did you ask? Good luck and welcome aboard

welcome to the madness. your lucky with the fact that only 04's are numbered. pm stingray with your vin number and he will tell you. he has access to that stuff

Sweet find Bro. I'd make sure they check out all the rubber hoses, tires, etc..since that's been sitting for a while. Mine was on the lot for a while too and my valve stems went bad and had to be replaced.

Welcome!!

Welcome Os! Congrats on buying the Fastest Color!;) :D

Go ahead, tell us what you paid and depress the '04 owners who had to be among the first to have these trucks... (like me:dontknow:  )

Welcome to the VTCOA. Did you buy it from Southland Dodge? Frank and Jeff Teuton are friends of mine and they own Southland Dodge and Thibodaux Chrysler Jeep.

I bought it from Sugarland Dodge in Baton Rouge. Frank is a little angry with me right now. I had the truck at Southland last week to change the Serpertine belt. Started to part, I guess from sitting around not being driven. I live 2 hours away from Sugarland so I just brought it in to Southland. Didn't think they were going to give me any trouble but............... I tried to buy one of these from them but they wouldn't budge on price. I bought this one from Sugarland for 30k plus they paid the balance on my 350Z I traded in. I won't complain about that.

Thanks for all the input guys!

Dude you ripped them off!!!!! Thats just wrong man! How do you sleep at night!! ...............lucky bastard!!!!:D :D :burnout:

Awesome score my friend. Cam bolt recall check is a must and harmonic balancer must be checked to make sure torque setting is correct. Several of us had em really scary loose!! Clutch on 04 sucks with the 4.10 gearing. Do not NOT NOT slip the clutch under a heavy launch. It'll last maybe 2 or 3 of those .....then its toast.

Cheapest mod you have is RAM and DODGE badge delete. Six pack of Corona, goo gone, fishing line and some rags..... rub away and quench your thirst.....well worth it.

Welcome to the RBC dude!!

Especially if the belt was coming apart you need to check the torque on the harmonic balancer bolt. Mine was loose enough to let the lower pulley move forward enough to damage my fan belt. I think it torques on 135 ft.lbs. but you might want to double check that. Cam bolt recall was on early '04 models. At 30,000.00 you stole it for sure!
