Well,

I thought I could buy a set of pads for my 05 by Performance Friction thru AutoZone. Not available yet. They gave me a set of Morse Ceramic 1085C instead ($44.95). They are the correct parts for the 05 front. I haven't installed them yet.

Are the OEM's Carbon Metallic? Are the ceramics less effective than the oems? Im worried that I will sacrifice stopping ability for clean wheels. Well, I cant stand all the noise either. Disc quiet did not help.

Anybody have any clue? :dontknow:

Thanks!!!!

You could always do what NowWhat did and remove the brakes completely....oh wait, that was the rears :dontknow: :D

I would just order a set of EBC Green's for the front (most of the dust)from premier or x-metal.

Well,

I installed the pads. Best 50 bucks I ever spent. Only drove 5 miles but the squeeling is totally gone. No more edgy brakes were a light touch of the pedal would cause a steering wheel induced concussion. It stops as good if not better from 60 to zero. Well, without testing equipment, its difficult to say if it made an improvement. All that I can say is that I see, feal and hear an improvement.

$50.00 at AUTOZONE. Morse Ceramic specifically for the 2005 SRT-10. Part number 1085C. Buy them. You wont regret it. :dancing:

Sounds great. Can you give us another update after say 50 miles. I'd like to make sure it's not a temporary fix. I've gotten new pads on other vehicles and they're great at first, then they'll start squeeling too. Thanks in advance.

No Problem,

I put 50 miles on them. They do squeal alittle when cold. As soon as they warm up, they stop. Im going to drive alot tomorrow. Ill post again and let all know....:)

I have about 200 miles on them. They stop great very little squeel. My wheels are SO MUCH cleaner. Buy them....at Autozone!!!!!!!

Make SURE you resurface your rotors!

are the performance friction pads same as "PFC carbon", which is listed on the auto zone website?:dontknow: $29.99?

Good job stepping up for the 05 guys.

I went thru the hassel of figuring out the right #'s for PF carbon metallics for the 04s about a year ago and the have been dust/squeel free ever since. I took off my stock pads and carried them into the store to match up an appropriate pair.

Was wondering why no 05 owners would take the bull by the horns and figure out what works. :dontknow: Kudo's to you.

vipertruck.... i'll be more than happy to take the bull by the horns........... and let YOU take the brake pads off of my truck and figure out a great solution.

cause thats the kinda guy I am! :)
