New guy in North Dakota having a problem

have a feeling there is supposed to be something in between these two ends.


pulled this melted chunk out of one end.
 
evap crap

should be able to plug the open end by the engine & see how she does then

that harness looks be be a bit crispy also

unplugged the harness and the electrical tape from the plug in to about 18 inches back was melted to the wires. think the heat could've made a week spot in the wires being its all right next to that second catalytic?
 
did ya try pluggin the hose at the engine & see if it made any difference???
 
if either one of ya'll can get the part number off of it & google it. might help.:rock::rock:

i can make out the first 2 numbers & the AA at the end

It would have to, that'd be one hell of a vacuum leak:dontknow: would make sense why he said it ran like crap then it cleared up. Once it did its cycle the the evap solenoid closed and cut off the vac leak. But I'd of thought it would throw a CEL
