New Insurance Premium

Insured through USAA, 2 vehicles, a ticket and accident on report.
In FT walton beach florida i was paying
$1311 per 6 month or $218 monthly

The house im in now marked a $1,000 increase in my 6 month
$2306 per 6 month or $384 monthly

I can move the same distance from work on the virginia side and get it
$1473 per 6 month or $245 monthly.

Considering my current landlord situation (see my other thread) It might be in my best interst to move to Alexandria VA and save that $140 per month. $140per month is alot more house for the money. At my interest rate the monthly payment window i qualify for would be a difference of a 350,000 vs a 320,000 house.

I guess now i gotta see if i can get the same house in Alexandria VA at 350k for what i can get spending 320k in Waldorf MD

USAA drops quite a bit after a year with no accidents, right? Maybe it will come down once the ticket and wreck passes.

That's such a huge jump in cost. When I PCSed down here my auto insurance jumped about $20/mo between 2 vehicles but my motorcycle went from $25/mo to $100. I'd move to VA if I were you. $140/mo is a good chunk of money. Especially if you can get a better house out there.

They say you pay less for the house on MD side at increase risk of crime, worse schools, and more traffic. You pay more for your home in VA with an easier commute, better school, lower crime.

I just have to figure out if $30k is worth the risk.

I think you need to take into account the resale of the house when you move again. It's guaranteed you will so you don't want get stuck with a house you can't sell because the schools are bad and crime is bad. In the long run, you might save $140/mo but lose out bigger when it comes PCS time. Also, how long till you premiums can drop from safe driving? Lots to consider I think.

Don't know why i let itget to me but i did and reviewed my started threads and can't figure out what your talking about. I bitch about my insurance premiums.... and my truck being slow. But I fail to get where your getting this from. Maybe im negative and don't realize it and should be more conscious of it. Sensor myself. Not a reputation i want for myself. Hell you or anyone else for that matter pm me and let me know how I came off that way so I can be aware. Certainly not my intention.

i have auto owners with 100/300 coverage and i pay under 200/month full coverage on my trailer, truck and wife's jeep...

but in regards to moving, i'd do what's best for the family... which, IMO is better shools, less crime, and whatever else you said...

My one insurance policy is with nationwide and its 1,200 every 6 months. I have a 2011 infiniti fx36, 06 viper, 06 srt-10 ram qc, and 77 cj5 with a supercharged 360. The last renew period it went up to 1,900 them I shopped it around and everyone else was at 1,200. I told my agent I was going to change and he said let me see what I can do. He canceled my policy and wrote me a new one that was 1,200. He said sometimes they will creep up and best thing to do is rewrite it like a new customer.

I have Geico, pay 190.00 for both car/truck.

have you looked into a quote from them ?

The truck is set as weekend car tho, jetta is now primary driver.

Statefarm is my homeowners tho
