What new laws started yesterday in your state?

Here is one from Florida:
Under a new Florida law, drivers who caused two or more crashes during the previous 36 months will have to attend a new driver-improvement course of at least 16 hours, including four hours behind the wheel, if they cause another crash in 2010

Here in NC the big news is the "No smoking in restaurants" law. Use to be restaurants could have a designated smoking section but now it's all non smoking. Only select places can permit smoking. I think they are smoking bars that neither serve food or drink.

We have had that law for 2 years now and I have mixed feelings about it......I hate to see the govt control what happens inside a business...are our homes next?........but on the other hand I am glad to see clear air when we eat out....even with designated areas the stench was terrible...

yeah but i miss the dankness in bars. and my BFF smokes so he has to go outside. thats why i love florida, you can smoke inside. also indian casinos.

our interim blind governor wants to make hitting bridges a felony, its the first law i can stand behind. it would be a big boost to business as thats my business is keeping people from hitting bridges. i would say a good 10% bootleg thru new york. i bet they would not if it meant jail time.

Ga has an additional $200 fine added to the normal fine if you are doing 85 mph in a 70 mph zone on a highway(interstate) and 75 on any 2 lane road.

If you bought a new car in 09 there is a tax credit.. well its not a law but good to know.

It's actually a deduction. You won't get all of the tax you paid back.

If you caused 3 or more crashes in the last 3 years you probably shouldn't have a license.

Are you sure about that? Here in South Florida, we haven't been able smoke in resturants or bars that serve food, for atleast 5 years.

Even the Ale houses and restaurant/bars like that have had outside areas for smoking for several years now.
That Wiki is wrong man.

Yup and us distributors have been saying that for two years now. Just wait another 5 years. Some of these new R22 units will still be under warranty but the refrigerant to recharge them will about cost as much as new.

Scoobert, R410a is the replacement for R22 for both residential and commercial. R410a won't be around as long as R22 was. While R410a does not destroy the ozone it scores high on the greenhouse gas scale.
