Just purchaced a Sct tuner from Marty at KRC Performance. Good or bad choice? Have heard few things. Seems like a good guy? Need some advice if some tuners are better than others.

Welcome to the madhouse:D Enjoy the ride and the company:burnout:

There are plenty of peeps here that will have all the info you could ask for about tuners, not me though, I'm still STOCK..;)

Yeah, where you at? So we can help you with a tuner. A Must Have! :D

Good Choice

I bought the SCT from Marty. He was very responsive when I had issues with my tune. I didn't spend a lot of time working with him though and I called Sean Roe. I sent Sean a dyno and he emailed me a tune at a very reasonable rate! Haven't had issues since.

Seemed like a nice enough guy but I was not happy with his tune. Made my truck shift all f'd up. Decided to go with a DC-Performance tune instead. It's perfect.

this is the best thing to do, put it on a dyno and get a tune that way, a generic tune is jsut that generic

dont be another blown krc motor, get it done correctly;)

My .02, making a generic tune for 100 octane and relying on the knock sensor to pull timing is not the way to do it. My experience with KRC: Had a Tuner arrive by FEDEX a month after I had received mine. Marty called me about it (he was getting flamed on the board) and I sent it back overnight on my dime. While I actually had him on the phone I inquired about some adjustments to my tune. The tuner arrived back at KRC the next day according to the tracking record.....never heard anything from him, and never was able to get somebody to actually answer the phone.:dontknow:

My PCM is running the stock tune until i get to the dyno and can call Sean at Roe Racing.

I have the DC Performance tune. They are a supurb outfit to deal with. I have also dealt with Roe Racing and received fantastic service from them. Thats whom I trust.

DISMIST............welcome..... .. asylum..............what branch of the armed forces?

The SCT was a good decision.......several here have had excellent results from KRC.....I bought my SCT from KRC...but...yes, but....then set up a tuning session on a dyno...Marty walked away half way thru and wouldnt return my calls...I was left with a truck that would barely run and smoked like a 50 yr old diesel............I wouldnt let him tune the Viper truck clock I have on the wall....runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn..:argh:

He walked away while tuning your truck? WTF?

He was doing an "email" custom tune..he was at his shop in FL and I was on a dyno in TN....he was having problems getting it tuned...on about the 5th pull we sent the dyno graph to him and waited on a reply...waited about 30 minutes and called him..,,they said he had to leave..emergency at home..ok...

Left the truck strapped to the dyno thinking we could finish the next day...i call the next morning and was told he was on the other line but would call me....he never called back and nobody would answer the phone after that...................:argh:
