I'm thinking about doing this for a temporary solution to the quiet stock exhaust.

Just completely removed? That's how I had my SRT4. I just removed everything from the downpipe back so it just dumped out at the cut-out.

Loud is good. As long as I don't have any drop in power, I am down.

It would result in an increase if anything and the stock muffler and tailpipe weigh 58.5 lbs so it is a nice weight reduction too, which these trucks need since they are heavy pigs.
