New (old) engine in!

My dad and I got the built motor from my first 10 pulled and put in the new 10. It was a pretty straight forward process just like I was told. She fired right up and sounded great. We pulled both engines and installed the new one in about 16 hrs. Oh, and while we were getting everything out of the wrecked truck, we got to looking at the damage and from what we could tell, the frame and motor/tranny mounts weren't bent at all. They looked fine which really made us wonder if the guy at the body shop was hoping he'd just buy it back from the insurance company and get a cheap SRT . Could just be a conspiracy theory though. Next project is taking it to a frame shop and letting them check it out.

Forgot something. The only issue is my oil pressure is reading 100. It shot right up when I first turned the key to ON. Does this sound like a bad oil pressure sensor?

Yep. And when the engine's running, it doesn't go down at all when I decelerate or idle like it normally would. The engine sounds and runs fine.

my oil PSI stays around 100 but it will come down when i'm just crusing down to abouty 50 or so but will shoot up when i jump on her

100 psi oil pressure isnt good at all

I let it run about 5-10 before I backed it out of the garage. I've driven it around without any problems or funny noises. Changed the oil too and that didn't do anything. The engine sat for about 6 months without being started BTW. I read some other threads and apparently a couple other guys had the same problem with the gauge reading 100 and replaced the sensor. But they didn't say if it solved it or not.

Change or check the sensor . It may have been damaged during the install of the engine . Or install a manual gauge and know for sure !!

Manual gauge for sure even if you mount it under the hood.

What's the difference between a manual gauge and the sensor? It sounds like I can't check the manual while driving since it's mounted under the hood. Am I mistaken?

Just use the manual one to check it at idle, then compare numbers.
