alright fellas I need some help deciding, I have read alot of the forums but am undecided on what to buy...
Here is a list of my truck and perf. mods as of today.
2004 silver RC, 7300 miles, little over a month new to me. Voltech CAI, Bellanger headers w/ catted mids, magnaflow catback. Nothing else as far as engine or perf. wise yet.looking for suggestions for next mod/s and whose PCM to buy.... any advice will be appreciated..

i got mine from boomer. Great person to deal with. I don't really think that it matters where you get or who you get it from. they are all the same.

You need a goal....to talk about pcm issues is dependent on where you want to go...and you going to forced induction? What type and when? What do you want to achieve...you must have a well thought out plan before any one can respond to this question...very few do anything to the pcm in an RC until they decide to boost their engines...most people with QC's move on pcm upgrades early on...

ah ha goals. I would like to Supercharge next spring, I see alot of the guys here seem to like the Roe SC, But I want to save the money to do that and all the extras that go with it. I noticed that the PCM's for the RC seem to offer way less HP and trq gains then the QCs, so I wasn't sure if it was even worth trying to get one now and then have it reburned after FI...

if you are going any FI, dont bother with the pcm, you will get a new engine managment system

Stinker is right on!

And yes, save for the Roe....you will get a VEC III to piggyback on your oem pcm to control the Roe....right now while saving for the SC, get the Centerforce Clutch, Fidanza Fly Wheel, Viper Slave and Master Cyl and Gen IV shifter. Then get long tube headers, do a full cat delete, add a magnaflow, install the stinker rear end, get the shift light, add meth injection and you are then ready for the Roe....after the Roe get cal tracs, slicks and 15 inch wheels.

Then you are ready to compete!

Good luck and be sure to keep us posted on your progress.

Yeah money is overrated, it is just paper died green and smells funny. Do you guys think that a 170 deg Thermo should be something I should look into anytime soon?
And as far as shifters go, what does everyone prefer B&M or Boomers GenIV?

i dono, while i was driving around today i could definitely feel the heat soak
so when i ordered the PCM i ordered a 170' T-stat with it.. from what i hear
B&M and Boomers both have the "jedi" type shift bar thingy and i like stock
look.. personally i don't think you can go wrong with either... i probly will go
with boomers once i have sufficent funds! also, when i get my PCM
i will write up a lil bit to explain what it feels like..

OH and also, i think it's better to have a performance PCM then a VECIII
as you probly will gain more HP.... most people don't agree with me but i say
to hell with them ;) :p :D

He stated that he wants a Roe, he must have a VEC III with the Roe that is what it is designed to use. If he goes with a Paxson then he has the choice to make.

If you plan to SC your truck dont bother spending cash on the pcm. If you do not plan to SC then its a great idea IMO. You said you have catted mids??? Is that with or without? Dropping the cats gives great results. All pcms work better with intake, no cats, aftermarket muffler and or headers.

Hope that helps.
