The whole idea behind Obama and all this merchandise regarding him is
to create a image of Cool or Hip. It's got to be one of the best ways to
influence the youth and Pop culture as a whole. Personally, not a fan but
it's pretty genius on his administrations part. In the most abstract sense,
peer pressure. Just my two cents.

Those particular shoes are one offs done by an artist. Not mass produced yet. If there's is a buck to be made they're probably not too far off from your local shoe store. Here's the story:
