Bunch of panzies... I remember the days of riding in the bed of the truck or in the passenger seat of my dads truck, no seat belt nothin' He'd hold his arm out if he had to stop abruptly. Survival of the fittest damnit! lol

You think I'm joking? barely ha
Been there, done that. Never really wore seatbelts until it became a law. Rode in many a truck bed. Was one of the thrills of childhood.

Scott I agree 100% kids don't have a choice... I think this year I don't have to sit in my car seat....

I need to find a cool racing one to put in my truck, the standard Plaid Graco aint cuttin it...Plus it needs to be High Tech with some kind of shock therapy cuz my kid is KRAZY!!!!:D:D:D:D

Okay so by now it should be well known that a new strict nationwide law that will mandate the use of car/booster seats during the transportation of precious cargo less than 8 years of age will take effect in about a month or so. Has everyone here that this applies to began shopping for a sporty car seat to put in their rides?:dontknow:
look up www.simpsonraceproducts.com i have both on their seats, very cool:rock:

i used to hand my dad beers from the camper shell of our chevy luv when I was a kid!

Havent read the law yet, but I hope there is height and weight limits attached.

At his current rate, my son will probably be 5' 9" and 150 when he's 8 :D
Nope, there isn't. We have something similar in GA where they have to be in the backseat too. One of my boys doesn't fit in the car seat anymore, seat belt won't go around him. Common sense wasn't applied to this safety application.

However, I imagine if you got pulled over, and have a huge 7-8 year old, the cop will apply common sense when looking at your boy. The local cops here have the big picture on the law.

Your boy looks JUST LIKE YA!

You could call him... "Mini-Me". :D

Look for seats by Recaro and Britax.... They have some cool models. ;)

This Britax model is pretty cool.... even has a cup holder! :D http://www.britaxusa.net/products/detail_parkway.aspx

I don't know that this is true. The feds have recommended that kids 8 and under remain in booster seats, but I think that is the extent of it. Now they will hold back highway funds for any state that doesn't incorporate it, that's their typical blackmailing way. In Cali it is 6 years old or 60 lbs. My 6 year old is still using his booster seat.

And as far as calling the cops, never have, never will, for anything.

Check out the Simpson car seats. Made by the racing suit and helmet company. They almost make me want to go out and start over again, just so I could get the seats for the back of the truck. Current college tuition expenses bring me back to reality in a hurry.

I don't agree with this law, I think that all kids should be in a car seat but age is not a way to decied if they need a seat. Not all 8 year olds are the same size... like me, at 6 I was as big as most 8 year olds. And at 8 I was huge...
