I think that's a little ways off, Brudda.

This is my first motorcycle.... I don't even have my helmet and jacket yet (ordered, should be here Monday). I have been riding it around my sub-division a few times a day, just to get used to things... Mainly slow-speed cornering, stopping, turning sharp after being stopped, dodging little dogs (  )... etc. It's a BIG sub-division, so I have been getting lots of practice before I take her on the open road. :) I am signed up to take the 3-day Motorcycle Safety Foundation course at Patrick AFB. So, I think I will even wait until that is over to take any long trips. :burnout:

I did pull my first "stoppy" already tho! (See "dodging little dogs", above). :2in1: My buddy that was on his bike said it was perfect form :D I got the back wheel up about 3 feet in the air! Thank God for electronic steering stabilizers. :D
just be thankful its little doggies...mine was a big black lab. you cannot believe the damage 30 mph can do. totalled a brand new bike. tore my mcl and acl and had surgury. 28000.00 later im better than new. Ive been riding since i was 7 so experience wasnt the problem. alcohol was not a factor. Get safety equipment cause its not a matter of if you will go down, its a matter of when. 25 years in the dirt and 16 on the street and have been down twice on the street. always, always, always wear at minimum jeans. you cannot beleive the beating they will take on a 60 mph slide on blacktop and protect your skin. try to wear long sleeves at minimum. you can always roll them up when not on the bike. a leather riding jacket and gloves are very protecting but not always convenient as its really hot! goggles are a big help if you are squinting because of the wind or watery eyed you may not see a situation that you could have avoided. helmets are definately a plus although i dont wear one. not preaching just offering advise. be safe and practice lots before you take precious cargo on the back. try to manipulate any situation in the subdivision or parking lot that you can think would happen on the road. your reflexes and involunitary reactions are your best defense or offense. everything you practice will come into play without even thinking about it. congrats and have a blast.

Get a Rocket, Dude.... If your worried about "Blue Hair's", a stretched-out chopper is NOT the way to go. At least on a sport bike you can avoid something quickly if it is in your path. Choppers and Harley's are pretty to look at... but, I would NEVER ride one around here.

Thanks for the advise, Rodney. It's really appreciated Bro.

Going all out on the safety gear. Jacket (Joe Rocket "Big Bang" w/ Kevlar Spine), Gloves (Joe Rocket HRC), Helmet (Scorpion EXO), Boots (Joe Rocket "Big Bang")... Thought about the pants too, but that is a little much. :) Jeans will suffice, I think. :burnout:
