New Truck question

Im driving a few hundred miles tomorrow to hopefully pick up a new 05 quad cab. Would it be worth me taking my alpine door speakers out and putting the factory speakers back in so that I can use them in the SRT? Now all I have to do is get the dealer to offer me more than 13k for my 04 quad cab Hemi Lonestar with 22k miles on it. Oh and one last thing tell me that my 700+ a month payment will be worth it so I can finish convincing myself.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time on the speakers. As for the payment, if the rent is paid and you're not hungry, $700 is probably well worth the fun!

$700.00 a month will be worth it. Hell, I get at least 70 smiles per mile when I'm driving mine.

$700 bucks a month is the easy part....it's the modding budget that will git ya....:rock: .....yeah...worth it. Trucks turn heads all the time, and I enjoy driving mine more now.. than I did when I first got her.

Thought it would be a toss up on the speakers. I didnt take them out when I traded in my 00 and ended up buying more. I didnt know if the speakers in the SRT are the same as SLT or not. Well I will be up in the morning for a 4 hour drive one way so Im not coming back empty handed. I hope that I can get more than the 13k over the phone quote for my 04 Lonestar.

34900 for the SRT after what I owe on my SLT and what they are willing to give in trade it will be 42000. I would love to get 16500 for my trade in, my truck is in immaculate shape. I drive and maintain vehicles as if Im never going to trade them in. I think I could get 16500 put down a grand and then be in a good place. Now what I have to do is convice the wife that its worth it. She has given me the you can do what you want. We all know how that works and since she trippled my 50k salary last year I dont want to be in the dog house. I think im going to pull the buy now ask for forgivness later. I will let you all know tomorrow how it works out.

Audio freaks will tell you the factory system sucks. I say it is pretty d@mn nice for what it is. You'll have to use your own judgement...before you you may wish to have a look at Azmal's "hall of shame" thread and decide if you want to go popping door panels and the like.

After 10 hours of driving and some negotiation Im home with a nice shiney red SRT quad cab. I even got to activate my Sirius radio on the way home and listen the the guy try to sell me a 3 year sub. I told him I had spent way to much today and couldnt spend anymore. I eeked out at $725 a month only $25 more than the wife gave me the approval for. Unfortunately I agreed to no mods in the near future as part of the deal. Ill need to sneak an exhaust in, Im use to my flowmaster on my Hemi.

ha! I'm famous! :star: I almost didn't read the whole thread either.

You already have the truck so this point is probably not really necessary but just for kicks. The factory speakers on the SRTs sound good. And that is good considering most stock audio systems are just OK. Just be careful who you get to do aftermarket stuff if you go that route. Indeed see hall of shame thread lol
