New Watch Time- Need Suggestions

............. Anywho... The size looks about right. That's a 40mm+ case, correct?

The analog one is a 41mm x 13mm case (as per the specs on Bluedial.com).
The dual-display one is 40mm x 12mm.

You're right about the guitarist thing though:
I just came up from playing for 2 hours with the analog one on. The distance it moves the wrist of my picking hand is EXTREMELY uncomfortable.
I could get used to it, in say....oh....10-12 years.

Gotta have a thinner band than the two thick leather straps.
MUCH thinner.

I was trying to garner a response like this, actually... A life-long friend of mine is a pretty accomplished player. He swears by arm bands (like the sweat bands?) when he plays. He wears a watch 24/7, and he says it "throws him off" when he plays without something on his wrist. But, the metal/leather bands of his watches would catch on the strings and pic guard.... so he uses a Nike/Adidas type arm band now.... plus, it does tend to help with sweat issues as well. Also.... I take it you're LEFT-HANDED? Or do you just wear your watch on your right arm (picking side)?

You REALLY need a double-butterfly-clasp design for your watch band....

Here's a few pictures of the band on my Bulova (the one Mikey oogles over ). The band is high-polished on the inside, and the links are set in such a way that they will not pinch your arm hair. It's a great bracelet, perhaps not the particular KIND of watch you're looking for (although, it has all the complications that Citizen has)... but, it's a start.

^^^My wrist is tweeked here, to get the shot, the clasp sits perfectly flush on the wrist, and is curved for comfort.

Also.... I take it you're LEFT-HANDED? Or do you just wear your watch on your right arm (picking side)?

I'm right-handed, and wear my watch on my right hand.
That's one of the difficulties with watches like the analog Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium: All functions are done via the winding stem....which is on the elbow side of my right wrist (almost unreachable by my left hand, and certainly not adjustable). I can use the buttons, but not the winding stem.

I *LOVE* the butterfly clasp....but....two tiny problems with it:

1. The radius of the inside of the clasp is not even close to the radius of my wrist. The inside of the clasp pictured will 'bulge out' the strap like Mikey's cheek when he's...ahem..."out with the boys". I've tried re-radius'ing clasps like that with zero success.
2. The added material of the inside of the clasp essentially doubles the thickness of the strap.
Back to the thickness issue.

Velcro/sweat bands will last about a week before they are ripped or bitten through.
Plus, a velcro/sweat band on a Citizen Promaster? Like you'd ever let me live that down.

Well, after a 2-week test drive of the Citizen, it's still kicking ass (and on my wrist).

I've put it through some major paces, including 10 hours of tree trimming, 3 hours of mowing/weedwacking, and 4 hours on the wood chipper. The outside dial slipped about 4 'notches', but the watch itself held perfect time (checked against time here on the computers).
The handle of the shifter even smacked it's face once....no damage.

The one thing that NEEDS to change is the 2nd strap loop. It's WAY loose and the band keeps slipping out of it. The pointy tip on the band doesn't help either. Actually, both strap loops need to be tighter.

I'm *seriously* considering that Promaster with a nice leather band like this one has.

Paralysis by analysis. Sometimes (not necessarily this 'time') 'tis better to be rapid and approximate rather than slow and exact. An old leadership adage...

But I did have a man that worked for me at one time that could drill into an issue so deep and keep such detailed records that I had to keep him away from other employees. I eventually had him working on contracts that were hundreds of pages long...his job was to boil them down to the salient factors that would fit on one page, double spaced.

There is an application for every skill, a place for every talent.
