WOOOOHOOO Got off the phone earlier today and heard the best news of the entire month so far:D !.. Well Good And bad News i guess You Could Say..anyway onto the news. Some of you know that I'm having my motor built by a Performance shop in Buda texas American Racing Technology. i heard pretty good things about them so i gave it a shot.. but i got my motor down there to them about 8 weeks ago.. had all the dents and banged up places in my Block Fixed.. Looks like they Want to run CompStar Connecting Rods And JE Flat Top Pistons..and some type of Cam Shaft not real sure yet. i want the Comp Coupe Cam but have heard of a better performing cam just tring to hunt them all down lol...anyway So finally i can sleep at night and not Dream about me getting a 10k Bill in the mail... so far my total bill cost with them is Way under 5 grand...and Quite Frankly I'm Shocked... But i do Have a Few Questions.....Cause i'v never heard of CompStar

Is The CompStar Connecting Rods Anygood? I mean anythings better than stock Plus it's cheaper than going back with OEM Parts From what i was told or well it's about the same maybe a few 100 bucks more not much tho/
http://www.compstarcomponents.com/connecting_rods.htm

Also They are Wanting to run JE Flat Top Pistons i'v heard of JE and know they Are a Good Brand but are the flat tops Stronger than the Stock Pistons?

Also my heads have been shaved twice so thats going to bump up compression.. i'm kinda curious to see what power numbers i will put down any rought ideas? here will be the Mod list when i get the motor back

Complete Portmatched Motor,JE Flat Top Pistons,CompStar Connecting Rods,CompCoupe Cam"or Other Cam",3 Angle Valve Job on Heads Slight Port and Polishing on Heads,Heads Shaved Down Twice, Ported and Polished Intake, Roe TB,Catless Mids,Magna Flow, and last but not least tuen it all with the SCT On The Dyno.... i'v been told it should be close to 500rwhp and maybe over if i throw in some long tube Headers...does that sound right? or even close to that number? anyway non the less im wanting to lay the rest of my rear tires on the pavement right in front of Dallas Dodge:rock:

NICE Looking rods! Callies has been around a long time and JE has a good

reputation also, But DETONATION will kill ANY engine.

Make sure and double check what your static compression ratio is going to

be. Have fun!

Are you not having the crankshaft offset ground for a stroker ? ? Now would be the time to consider this.

As far as J&E Pistons? They are AWESOME!

And so far on the Compstar I have heard great feedback

Glad to hear your soon coming back to life.

* I gotta get me a good block !!!!:marchmellow:

man to be honest with you i do not know if they will grind the crank for it to be a stroker i know the pistons will be a little bigger than stock so in a sence it will be bored over but i'm unsure about the stroker part.. i am having a sit down with them in 2 weeks to make 100% sure everything they are doing is what i want and is the best for the motor they are building i pretty much gave them free reign over the whole build told them the power numbers i wanted.. told them to take it from there and this is how much i want to spend.. and they are way under what i was planing on spending.. so i'm stoked

Damn sounds like you lucked out man!  It's good to hear. I spoke with them down there and he spoke of all the correct processes when building an engine, he was very detailed too. I would be VERY confident in their abilities.:congrats:

I know man i'm like super excited! anyway anyone got an idea if they NUmbers look to be right on the Hp level?

Sounds pretty close- I would check on those compression numbers though for a street beastie

yeah it's really the only thing that kinda scares me in the compression ratio but then again everthing on the motor will be taylored to the motor and the same guy doing the machine work is doing all the numbers for the rods and pistons so i'm pretty sure it'll get taken car of..... but i will still make sure to ask them about it... i'm hoping for 500 and maybe a few more on the juice but im prob not gonna juice it after my last dealing with n20
