I said I wasn't going to do this to my truck but I can't help it. The truck now feels slow and I need more powa. I've installed a K&N drop-in, B&G stage II PCM, Bassani shorties, and a Magnaflow cat-back. What do you guys recommend for my next power mod?

TIA,
Jim

Supercharger....seriously :D

If you haven't already, do the clutch upgrade....I hear that the improved traction really makes a huge difference in performance since you don't have as much slippage (is that a word???)

If that doesn't make you happy, do the supercharger....that will get you the increase your soul is looking for, and you'll need the clutch before this mod anyway, so it's a natural progression.... :D

I see you have an '04.

I would consider the new clutch and lower the gearing to 4:56 or 4:88.

If you want to turbo or supercharge keep your 4.10s.

If I lower the gear, am I going to have to re-flash the pcm for the speedo?

If I lived in Florida I would visit Roe for their supercharger or Doug Levin Motorsports for his expertise in Paxton supercharger tuning. If you want nitrous/propane injection BTRViper.com (located in Florida) is also an option and less expensive then the supercharging route.

Thank you for the links. Nobody mentioned anything about re-flashing the pcm for the speedo correction though.

Well...take my and others advice, dont do things twice...very costly!! I did the drop in, then the cai, then the flash, then ripped it all off and threw it away, then started over, blah blah blah...all a waste of time. Just get a plan, decided where you want to go / where you want to be with your truck, and go for it. If need be, take progressive steps to that 1 goal (ex : clutch upgrade, because your going to do the supercharger).

for the money i think a gear change is the way to go, i'm saving for the 4:56s';)

I went supercharger route with my Z06 and made it into a supercar killer but for this truck, I just want to get to 510bhp. I'm thinking with my current mods, I'm at about 470rwhp (havent dyno'd it yet with the magnaflows and bassani's). I'm guessing Im going to have to go heads and cam to get that last 50rwhp.

Well, if you are POSITIVE you want the 510 rwhp, then do the mods which are required for that..BUT once again, I would do things which you can keep in-case you want more hp later :D ..which you probably will :p

Maybe do heads, cam, headers....see how that is for you. If need-be, you can always keep those parts and add-on to them.

Call Dan or Chris @ DC, and talk to them and see if you can get them cam now, add if that cam could be used later if forced induction was installed.

NO Reflashing required when you change gears. From what I've read, the sensor is located in the differential - so the speedometer correction is automatically, well, corrected!:D

I did the 4.56's over a year ago and have not regretted it one bit - Great Mod for the '04 trucks!!:burnout:

Purchased from Unitrax. Talk to a guy named Devin - He KNOWS his sh!t!

Thanks Hamrhead, one of the important bits of info I was looking for. I'm really leaning the 4.56 way.

I would go with a complete Muffler Bearing overhaul.....:D Boomer sells billet ones that gaurantee an additional 217 HP and they can be had at under 500.00 bucks
