Im trying to install the NightVision HID kit. It calls for a 13/16 hole, but the instructions say on the rear cover. I want to confirm that i do not drill the assembly, just peice that holds the bulb into the headlight. I havent taken this apart yet to figure it out myself.

Also there are no 13/16 hole saw or standard drill bits.... ANYWHERE. I went to Autozone, Advanced, Lowes, HomeDepot, Sears, Walmart, AceHardware, and this mom and pop hardware store in town. They skip over that size. The only thing any of them had was a wood spade bit, or a 3/4 standard drill bit. Im worried about the spade bit walking on me and spitting chunks of plastic in the assembly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if you have some pics of the installation process.

I have everything plugged in here i think its supposed to go, but where im lost is the little pigtails in the top left of the pictures, Where do they go? When i install them where they fit it leaves two plugs open on the left.

The diagram in the book says you only need to plug one headlight plug in. The other is supposed to remain open... but i got two on the left.

Jeff, can you scan or take a pic of the directions?

The directions give the diagram the way i assembled it. The way it is in the picture is identical to the way the instructions show it. The only thing, the instructions say if your vehicle has a lamp out feature, which ours does, you have to get an additional harness and instructions from your vendor. These instructions were not included in what i have, but the harnesses were. The gold ones. Looks like some kind of resistor. But if you plug it in the only spots it will fit it give 2 extra grounding points and leaves 2 connectors unplugged.

Just trying to help you out man.
I can tell you, it doesn't look like how mine was wired. With the rats nest layed out on the couch I can't tell very well whats going where. Hence me asking for the directions or a wiring diagram.
I will tell you, messing with lighting on these trucks, you can fry the TIPM (fuse box with circuit board) if your not careful. That's only about a $1000 repair.
Then again, what do I know... only did car electronics for over 12 years.
Take it to a local place and have someone else install it. If you have any doubt, don't do it. Really, not trying to be a dick here.

Hell i appreciate ya, dont misunderstand my tone from typed words. Maybe i should use more smilies.

Ive wired like it shows in the diagram, but i read in the instructions, additional harness, and instructions provided by vendor if the vehicle has a lamp out feature. I have harness just not instructions. Thats why im seeking info. The website for the manufacturer has no support section, and no diagrams.

This is why I want to see whats doing on. I did a search for directions before I asked.
With electronics there is no "Do Overs". If you get it wrong... something will smoke.

two things I dont install, hids, alarm systems.

allready been one truck that has had the complete wiring harness replaced, we sell them, but are not responsible for installs,

any local shop whether you buy it from them or not will do the install, unless they are just plain filthy rich

I cannot or will not give any wiring directions or advice on a forum here on ,
reason being is if the person on the other side of the computer misinterprets anything and snaffus the wiring it can be costly

the last truck that went in for a simple alarm install ended up costing them almost 7k dollars in wiring and labor,

I will post the directions and a way to contact the company
custom HID conversions, HID kits, LED, CCFL specialists - retrosolutions
you may contact them and ask them on wiring,

but its too costly to take chances, I would encourage anyone that does not understand certain wiring to seek out a professional that does.

I see why you gave this one away....

excuse me? its a very high quality kit, ask around ,they are the best out there right now.

They offer a lifetime warranty, and are easy to install, if you know what you are doing , and again , if you do not, please consult a professional installer.

the ram uses a different system than all others, hence the need for the resistors, its a simple install of a resistor.

and the reason I "gave" it to him is customer service, we are late on getting him a product becuase of a company change over on billet items, so for him being patient, I gave him the kit.

If you cant install it , or understand the installation, I am more than sure there are a number of members out there that would gladly take it off your hands since it was free.

I gave you the companys information, feel free to contact them for installation, but they will most likly send you the same directions

Why's that? There is nothing wrong with that kit. :dontknow:

How did you install yours wes. All Bixenon HID have the same harnesses if the High beam and Low beam share the same bulb. For yours to work you had to have had the resistors in, where did you put them?
I posted a pick with the kit disassembled. It should be easier for you to make sense of the connectors now.

My kit was a bit different. I have delt with HID's in 4 of my personal vehicles. All the kits are basically the same, just a little different harnesses.
I still can not tell in your pics what is what. Some of it I can, other wires I can not.
Tomorrow give the manufacture a call. They will be the most familliar with what they sell. You already know what parts you have (the resistors, that link you posted earlier). You also have the relay harness (top of the pic with, that you will need). Its just a matter of plugging it in the right way.
