I live in Jersey, and work in Manhattan, NYC. Usually I commute in via the trains. I have been putting in long hours at work the past 2 weeks, so it is better for me (and faster) to drive into Manhattan.
I usually roll real early in the a.m. ( it's still dark out) and there is minimal traffic on the roads. Soooooo I can usually drop the hammer in certain spots that the roads aren't too funked up.
Well in my normal drive in, I pull into the toll booths at the Holland Tunnel...Pay my toll, get my receipt and start to roll out of the booth- well a female NJPortAuthority Police Officer is walking in my lane towards me as I pull out...
I stopped and she said- your exhaust is way loud- "we can hear you coming".......
Now I usually blast over the Pulaski Skyway then hammer through Tonnelle Ave- which is a tunnel that leads to the road dumping into the tolls. The distance from the entrance of Tonnelle Ave to the toll booth is an estimated mile and a quarter...... I pay my toll and enter the Holland Tunnel and instintively open the rear windows to hear the exhaust reverberate.......
Should I take this as a warning?
