no muffs?

Hi all I was wondering if there is any problems running no muffs on these engines. Back preasure stuff like that. I have flowmasters on it now, but I want it louder.Thanks,,,,, Bryan

When I installed the Magnaflow I started it up without the new system installed and the cats in place. Not all that much difference in sound after the MF was installed.

You can go the high-flow cat way too. Good sound with the Magnaflows.

I have the magnaflow cat back system, and I am trying to figure out how I am gonna gut my rear cats. I dont have any welding equipment or welding skills. Guess I'm gonna try to rent some tools

I cut the rear cats with no prob and put a custom Imco front catback system on mine. Essentially the mufflers are hollow resonators. It's a bit obnoxious but there is no back pressure to speak of and man it flat livened my truck up along with the K&N Aircharger. Happy Modding Bro!!!

most muffler shops will remove the back cats for you as long as the front ones are left on.........

I love the sound of magnaflow, no cats, and long tube headers. Not everyone can get away with it, but if you can I highly reccomend it.

Better off emptying the rear cats and closing them back up, or just putting a straight pipe in its place? I think the empty chamber would almost be like a resonator, no?

Yeah, I was thinking it would prob cost me the same if I was to take it to a shop and have them hack off the rear cats, as it would to rent a plasma and do it myself, with all expected aggrivation.

I just got pulled (not ticketed) for "loud exhaust" today. WTF! I had to convince the bastard that I'm BONE STOCK!!!!

For some odd reason he had no problem with my non-CARB-stickered Volant BUT MY DOT APPROVED FACTORY PIPES WERE TOO LOUD!?!

So, after much argument, he looks under the truck and says "Oh, I guess it is origional. Well, just stay off the pedal, okay?"

There's CHP Harleys on the road with Thunder Headers and my truck is "TOO LOUD".

Those of you who are getting away with catless mids Magnaflows and YOU Red: I'M BLOODY JEALOUS!!! Some guys get all the luck!

Hells yeah! I was just thinking about tmorow, and if the exhaust guy is gonna chop my cats off for me, or at least the rears. I would go for it if he would chop all 4. Not everyone has a beast that sounds like ours, let it roar.

Now all I have to do is convince them that the truck is for track use only! I'll just show him the slicks on the rearend.
