Today at 11 in the morning, me and my girl went to the New England Dragway to meet my buddies there. My buddies own a IS300, VW 1.8T and 2002 Honda Civic SI. Me, of course, with my truck! It is my first time to run and boy...it was very bad. Lol At first, I did 20secs @ 97mph. It was bad because I left go the clutch too early and it broke down. At second run, I ran 14.3 @ 100mph which is much better! At third run, I ran 14.9 @ 99mph it was kind of slow than at the second run. It was because that I spinned the tires badly and missed the third shift. Damn...I need get a B&M short shifter soon! Lol. I will post up a picture the paper of my time. So, my fast time was 14.3 @ 100mph. Only modified I did was the magnaflow exhaust. I love the feeling of it! My girl told me that it was very loud than the stock and sounded good! I want to run less 14sec and 13sec too! But how can I make that possible. Any help would be great. Thanks!

BTW: my two buddies with their 1.8T and is300 ran at 15secs. My other buddy's civic si ran 16secs. My truck is the fastest than all their vehicles!

Here you go Tyler...

Ahh, I see. Thanks Roy. I am planning to do the FI for my truck later. I am thinking about get me a Roe supercharger but it cost a lot of $$$. So I am planning to get a catless soon. I am current saving the money for headers. Would it run below the 14 secs with the magnaflow, catless and bassani headers? Like a 13.8? :dontknow:

What do you mean? I don't understand.

The higher altitude means your truck is using air that is less dense to burn fuel. Since this is your first time at the track your progress will get better and you will soon overcome the higher altitude dilemma, if that's the problem. Congrats on being the fastest of your friends, but we knew you would be.:D

With practice you can be in the 13's now. You will need to get the B&M or Boomer shifter soon. Missing third is a PIA.

Don't worry about beating the competition, just get a good launch, make sure of your shifts...a shift light is a huge help...about a hundred dollars. Google "Raptor Shift Light"...

Yeah, I need get the B&M. I have a raptor shift light. It worked great at 5k rpm. It really helped me a lot. I have a question. When you are getting ready to launch. How much should I give it the gas and push the clutch down at same time? I noticed that when at the first run, I gave it the gas at 2k rpm then let go the clutch at green light and it really launch great. When at the second run, I gave it the gas at around 3k to 4k rpm, it really spun the tires badly.

First time is always a learning experience Tyler! Not bad anyway!!

Track prep might have had something to do with it, and the temp today. How warm was it up there?

Altitude is not a factor at NE Dragway, it's only 90 ft above sea level! :D

Keep practicing, your truck has 13's in it easily... but you can't keep missing third!!

:D

I think you can safely move your Raptor to 57 or 5800 rpm...

2000 is a good launch rpm for your truck. Avoid the spinning it will really hurt your sixty foot times...chirp it off the line but don't let it bog. While this is not important when you are running for time, once you start racing others, if you see the light turn green, your reaction time will be terrible. You should be launching as you see that last yellow light come on.

You will be in the 13's next time you race. You have a good start.

It was kind of cool up there. It was around 75 to 80 degree. Yep I need to keep practicing more. Haha.

Ok sure, I will move it to 5800 rpm. Next time, I will keep it at 2000rpm to get a good launch. It was my first time on the drag track and everything was coming fast. The lights were going too fast for me. Lol. I will trying to go back up there next time with the catless and B&M short shifter. Thanks guys for all of your helps and advices.

Ohh, also I have heard that lowering the pressure of the rear tires are a good thing to do too?

Yep 22 psi in the rear and 45 psi for the front on the stockers.

And my first time to the track, those lights do move fast:D I even had some guys tell me to leave when the second yellow lights up. But I prefer to leave on the last yellow. I need more practice myself too. I would imagine it is hard to tell if the tires are spinning with it being your first time to the track. So much to concentrate on to get down the track.

With a DA of 70 you should be able to hit the 12's....

I have no idea either...drastically assertive...deeply aggressive...decisively active...driver acclimated...decidedly amateurish...density of air...maybe but that is a strange way to express it...how about Air Density...???

Density altitude is the altitude in the International Standard Atmosphere at which the air density would be equal to the actual air density at the place of observation. "Density Altitude" is the pressure altitude adjusted for non-standard temperature.

Both increase in temperature and increase in humidity cause a reduction in air density. Thus in hot and humid conditions the density altitude at a particular location may be significantly higher than the geometric altitude.

What that means you ask?

Higher DA = Less HP(horse power) = higher ET

A DA near 5000 would make your et in the 14's, but near your DA is very near sea leval you should be able to hit mid 13's EASY with your current mods...

What was you 60' time?
