Yep. I was there. I actually have a piston very similar to those from one of my first cars - a 1980 Mercury Capri Turbo (Mercury's version of the Mustang back then). 2.3 liter 4 banger, turbocharged, and carbuerated - WooHooooo!!

What a nightmare that thing was. I bought it used, and it ran pretty damn good for the first hour I owned it, then -POOF- Oil was everywhere!

Burned a hole right through the rings on one piston. We fixed it, and then proceeded to fix just about everything else on the POS for the next year. Then I unloaded it on someone else.


At least when I bought my Syclone new, it took me a while to destroy one of those pistons - but I eventually did!!!

F'n Turbos...:thefinger: I still love 'em.

LOL! I did that to my old Impala SS after I put a ATI ProCharger on it. I drove it all summer and didn't know that happened months earlier, it drove fine :dontknow:
