Hey Guys, Got my truck up and running finnally. SRT-10 engine in a hemi chassis!! Question, I got check engine lights for my o2 sensors since i dont have them plugged in yet and yesturday i took it to the exhaust shop and had the two o2 bungs welded in, but when i plugged the o2 sensor in the truck started running horrible. When i drive it with them plugged the motor stuggles to REV, but when i unplug them it revs and runs like a champ. When i had BG crysler tune the PCM i told him to turn off the o2 sensors so im guessing he would of only turned off the o2 after cats since the first two are for air/fuel. How do i know which plug is for the left stream and which plug is for the right stream....could plugging them in backwards make the truck run like this?

What year is the Viper pcm? If it is an '04 it has different programming for the O2 sensors than the 05 and 06 models...

The '04 pcm allows you to run with the rear sensors strapped to the frame in clean air and not throw a CEL...but the 05 and 06 models have to be re-programmed to turn off the CEL for a poor rear 02 sensor reading.

If your pcm has been reprogrammed to see a clean air stream from the rear sensors plugging them in will definitely cause a problem.

i believe mine is a 2005, but how do i check that to be sure....? Also i havent even messed with rear o2 sensors yet. bank 2 have been unplugged the whole time and runs perfect but the moment i plugged in the bank 1 sensors the truck fell on its face at normal driving but runs great at full thottle. When bank 1 + bank 2 are unplugged it runs pretty good at all throttle ranges.

Do you have an SCT? If so you can get someone to send you a tune that will delete all of the sensors.

You may have to go to a dodge dealer to get them to tell you which pcm you have.

No i do not have SCT. I sent BG my PCM and had them put the tune in it. Since i told him to turn off the o2 sensors do you think maybe he turned them all off? I thought that you had to have the air/fuel ones on. If thats the case maybe i just need to plug them all in but not run them in the exhaust? Because it is throwing o2 check codes for 3 of the 4 sensors

I think you should get s stock tune on your pcm and go with a SCT. whats the number on the pcm?

Make sure you have the right type O2 sensors...you need the upstream not downstream......you say the engine runs like a champ w/o the O2s?....should be running pig rich...

yeah dont the upstream and downstream have two different plugs on them so its impossible to switch them anyways? When there not plugged in the truck is definitly running rich but not so rich that the truck runs bad...When there plugged in is when i think it starts running pig rich cause my buddy drove behind me from the exhaust shop and he said you can smell it big time

Yeah...the plugs are diff....forgot that...you might try calling Dave at B&M...

i had them plugged in but not in the exhaust and it ran good also. Just started running like crap when i i screwed them into the exhaust. Like quarter throttle the truck doesnt respond. It goes but feels like im holding the brakes and then when i get on it a little the power band comes on strong again. Do you think i could have the left and right switched? Think i may go to autozone and just buy all four o2 sensors (its only 125.00 bucks) and see what that does.

Ive never talked to Dave but do you think he would mind talking to me and trying to help me over the phone?

Well still having issues with brand new o2 sensor but now i have a bigger issue. While takin a quick pass down my street i broke my driveshaft because my rear end twisted upwards. My ubolts were tight but the welds from the brackets that the leaf sit on accually came apart.(i have hemi rear end with belltech flip kit and the recomend welding the new axel saddle.....guess i should of welded it hahaha. Oh well truck felt VERY fast
