Had my truck in the shop today cause the check engine light came on. Turned out it was just an 02 sensor. But it seems that the runoff from the AC condensor happens to fall right on the 02 sensor and catylitic converter andcaused it to rust and strip the threads. so now I need a new sensor and converter. Might be something everyone wants to get checked out too

I dont have any cats,,,,any way that seems wierd to me as if the truck is running and the ac is dripping on the cat,,,,the cat would be so hot the water would evaperate very fast....and I dont think fresh water would cause that but ,,,,,, thats just my dumbbut opion

my 04 did the same thing. they replaced all the cats and the sensors in november

ok good I'm not the only one whos had this problem. They said because of all the water hitting it it evaporated but just enough got in to cause it to rust and damage the threads. So without using a tap to rethread the hole I asked for them replace it and seal it to prevent it from happening again

same same i just had to replace a o2 when installing my exhaust system because the o2 rusted into the cat. luckly i was changing that part of the system so we just left the o2 in the cat and spent 20.00 to get another o2.

wow sounds like this is a real problem. At first I thought it had something to do with the CAI, so I did the ole computer flash (unhhok the batt) and then start it up. Cleared the light and the code but it came back on. Has anyone figured out a way to prevent it from happening again. If I got to keep getting 02 sensors and catylitic converters about every 6-8 months...my warranty will run out eventually...guess I could get rid of both all together
