OEM Water Temp Sensor Location?

I have an autometer water temp gauge i was gonna put to use someone gave me but it doesnt have the sensor, andone know if i could tap it into the oem one?

usually the temp. sensor is matched to the gauge range

You will have to research the resistance range of both the factory sender and the autometer sender to see if they are compatible.

I can pick an autometer sensor up off ebay for about $12 it seems, not bad...
