Offsite winter storage

Buy two of the four post lifts , several are being sold in Indiana, about $1800 each, then stack your cars/trucks, and therefore keep the babies home under your watchful eye.....some insurance companies may NOT cover when they are not at your home garage, and when you store away from home, you have to keep an eye from time to time so that someone doesn't break into your storage area....buying lifts now will pay for themselves in the future, rental storage spaces are constantly going up, plus with the lifts, it is very easy to clean your cars underneath and wax, change fluids yourself....etc....that is the best way to go....my $.02, "my life has changed dramatically since I discovered stackable livestock !!!!"

Garage is not tall enough, well it would be if I were stacking Vipers. I already checked the insurance, no issues there.

Damn thats a lot of issues you have to avoid with cold weather storage............bugs, varmine, tubs of water and antifreeze, jack no jack..............I would just build a bigger garage or move!!! ..........sorry I know that wasnt helping. But $48 sounds cheap to me.

can you park it in your parking garage at work? I do that a lot, I have 6 cars and a 2 car garage :)

Well I changed my mind, not about the offsite storage but where. I took it down the street today and the 10x20 area was just to tight. I could barely open my door.

So I did some looking and found a place near Monroe MI. It is a large open building, so you are not in a private unit, but

1. It has security
2. It is heated 48-50
3. I can go in and wax if I want
4. They leave enough space that you could not possibly open your door into the car next to you.

$99 a month, which since it is heated I thought it was very reasonable. If anyone is in SE MI or NW Ohio and looking for such a place let me know.

My Hemi Ram is now back inside and already detailed!! Now if I could just sell that or my Jeep :)

This is interesting, but I can not imagine it would be very cheap to rip up concrete, dig out and inset this device into a waterproofed basement if you will. The other downside, you have a "lift" but get none of the "lift" benefits, like working on the underside of the car. I think these are more for places like LA that have houses stacked on houses and you have no other alternative.

I actually have enough space to expand my garage, but I plan to move within 2 years and do not want to invest money for 2 years of use. My new place, well since I am building it will have a attached 2 car for toys and 4 car out back to park the driver and work :)
