so after all this talk about blown engines and stuff i decided to change the oil in both my trucks, usually i take it to the mobil station down the street but i was feeling not so lazy last night.....big mistake!
lets start with the 05 qc oil plug was fairly easy but whoever put the oil filter on is a dick! it actually bent before coming off....this am !
so now i say to myself ok its about 8.5 quarts to fill up atleast thats what mobil charged me for the last 11 changes, so after 8.5 its not full it actually takes 9.5,makes me wonder wtf was mobil 1 doing!!!!!!.
now onto the 06 rc the oil pan is different and takes a 13mm wrench instead of the 14 mm on the 05,also the oil plug on the 06 is on the passenger side, oil filter cameoff alot easier.
now i check the receipt for my last oil change it says 9 quarts ,well it took 11
quarts!!!!!!!!!!!!!
,so it seems i'll be doing my oil changes from now on.
and yes i started the motor to run the oil through
before and after i checked the dipstick.
i guess my advice to anyone taking their trucks in to get the oil changed, check the dipstick before driving off or just do the oil changes urself .
