Hey Guys/Gals,:)

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up and check your oil cooler line
that runs from the left hand side (facing engine) to oil cooler reservoir.
Those two hoses that run over into the corner just in front of the fenderwell.
Had it replaced today at the dealer. My truck is a daily driver and have
over 30k. It was repaired under warranty. It may or may not be an issue
for some of you, but you may want to keep an eye on it just in case. If
mileage is any indication of wear, then if your getting somewhere around
25-30k, then you may want to start checking for possible leaks. Other
than that, hey enjoy the beast for what is......a blast!!!!!!:driver:

I had mine changed last month. I know of a few other guys that have had the same issue. Those guys and mine were all leaking at the crimp. Also today I found my power steering pump line leaking.

Is this more common on any particular MY or anything? Right now my truck doesn't leak anything!! (knock on wood!):s:

Also keep an eye on the rack & pinion for leaks. I had all of the above, Plus the rear main seal.

Mines at the stealership now waiting for both oil lines to arrive from LA warehouse. Engine side was weeping for a while but the other day I started mine up (after several months down) and oil flowed from both ends of each line. Left a good 6" puddle after a short drive around the neighborhood checking out my newly installed lowering kit.....just turned 30K miles.

The only way I even knew I had a leak was due to the truck being on a lift getting some exhuast work. There were no puddles and my oil was not running low. Yesterday I changed my oil and while it was up on the lift I noticed the leak from the fan lines. So unless you are getting under your truck, you might not now you have a leak.

To be honest I don't know where the rear main seal is located. Is this the tranny seal or engine?

That was the same with mines. I had it on a lift doing an oil change and
noticed some oily residue on the fender and started tracing it back to the
source....oil cooler line. And yes, it was leaking around the crimped portion
of the hose. I attempted to add some pics but didn't work.

Could someone tell me how to add pics.
I've done it on other boards but for some reason I can't do it here.
Is there something in my profile that needs to be added? Thanks.

I guess it doesn't matter if its driven daily or has been sitting for a
few months.:dontknow: Just do the inspection each time you put it on a lift
just to be sure.:burnout: Enjoy!:driver:

That was just the post I needed to justify getting my own lift! Now if there is a garage closing in northern Illinois....maybe I can find a used four poster!

I think you need 5 or 10 posts before you can post pictures. But to post pictures just go to Advance then scroll down to manage attachments. Then upload you pic. Or go to photobucket.com and get a free account. Load your picture there. Once it is loaded go to the bottom box. It will be the IMG box. Copy the entire link in that box and paste it where you want your picture to appear.

Neither, Scott. "Rear main seal" is just a fancy name for your sphincter.

I will take others names for Mikey for $300 Alex.

What is a sphincter?

It's the only muscle in the human body that works by relaxing rather than contracting...everyone has one...some smell some don't...
