Monday morning 6 am I was off to the dealership for another look at my oil leak. 3 hours later after talking with the service mgr and tech they feel its my oil cooler line thats doing the leaking. I off course had mentioned this many times before. Parts are not in stock so I get the pleasure of driving back another day.

Since I have to take it back I might as well get them to do my gear swap as well at the same time. Now my dilema is which rear end gears do I buy? Service mgr assured me he had two qualified guys whom could do the swap. 456 or 488? I know I have posted this before and now sound like a chick whom cant make up their mind!!:dontknow:

Uniboy, how are you liking your 488's? Is it too much shifting for everyday driving? Ah the decisons!!!

Het Patrick,
I think it is one of the best mods I've done so far. I am running the same times and more consistent at LACR in 100 degree weather compared to 50 degree weather.:D You will definitely have to do alot more shifting though. I think if you're going to stay NA I would go with the 4.88's but if you're are thinking about putting a SC on or running nitrous maybe 4'56's might be better.

I agree 100%!! 4:88's are the way to go, especially for you Patrick with not alot of highway driving!! Go For It Brah!!!

Not that you asked me, but I'll give my two cents anyway :D

I have 4.56's, and having the truck a few months, I would have gone to 4.88's if it was an option.....a little more response thru the gears, and a better cruising speed.....seems like I am always between gears....45mph is too slow to cruise in 3rd, but lugs in 4th.....55mph, same with 4th and 5th....also, 70mph is just a little low at 1600 rpms in 6th....figure with 4.88's, I'd be closer to 1800 rpm.....

Good luck with the change....and taking care of the oil leak

As many times as I've *tried* to tell you to get the 4.56's, I think it's safe to say YOU want the 4.88's!:D Just quit messin' around and get one of them - You'll be happy!:) :)

Come on man enough is enough, will you just go for the 4.88's,I have said before you will not be disapointed,I would not say it if I really did not feel that way,if you did not want to shift why did you buy a 6 speed,Patrick go for it!!!!!!!

Help a homie decide if he should swap gears. Maybe we should start a poll or something? :dontknow:
