Oil Leak

Marc,

If you need to use a lift, give me a call, mine is open with the truck at the computer shop in Green Cove.

As soon as it stops raining I will be installing the Catch Can!!

Will also run with the Roe breather. I think part of the problem may be the Filters on my set-up now are soaked with oil therefore not allowing it to breathe sufficiently.

Wiil post up after I do the install.

Thanks for everyones input!

Isn't that storm coming from the west? That will kill the surf for sure.

Keep me posted.

P.S. Go to Boomers tomorrow...will spend two or three days working on traction, and getting his drop kit...

You were right on, west wind blew it right down to nothing, gonna go work on the leak!

Let us know how the traction set-up is working!!

I,ve had conversations with Paxton about PCV placement.
The way they recommend it, is backwards.(in my opinion).
Check to make sure the valve is positioned so you can,t blow into the cover.
With roots style blowers, the vacuum feed should be ahead of the blower.
At the throttle body, spacer plate?Although I haven,t researched the Roe setup, from what I,ve seen they appear to be well engineered.Just my 2 cents.

That makes pretty good sense. If you plumb your PCV to before the supercharger/blower/turbocharger it should provide adequate crankcase evacuation to improve ring sealing and reduce the amount blow-by oil consumption. I would still install a catch can or similar type device between the PCV and intake connection.

There is no PVC valve on 04's to my knowledge. I may be wrong.

I have the catch can installed now and will let you know if that solved my problem, after I go play with it this afternoon!!

I suppose it is not an actual PCV. There is just a vacuum line running from the airbox/intake to the back of the passenger side valve cover.

Yep, I have both the inlets at the back of the Valve covers running to the catch can. I believe the 05's inlet was relocated to the front on the passanger side.

Finally figured it out, was the oil breather that was leaking at the 2 piece connection. Took it apart, installed some new o-rings and all is good!!:D :D

Except I have oil stains all over one tube on my headers!! I hope it will clean up when it cools down??:dontknow:

Good find Marc. Glad it was minor.

Kitty litter on the header???

It works on the floor...sucks up that oil...

Kitty Litter!!:D :D

It's not wet, it's burnt on there! I gonna try some simple green when it's cold!!

Probably stained for good!!:dontknow:
