i'm gonna replace the lines myself (thanks, larry)

if i just swap them out at the next oil change will that allow enough of the oil to be drained from the cooler itself, of does it stay full, and it's gonna be a mess either way.

just matters if i take it to my buddy's shop and drain the oil on his lift to do the install or whether it doesn't matter and i make a mess of my garage...

thanks

What oil Lines are you going to use? Stinkers ?

He is using OEM..
Won't they just leak again:dontknow: I had mine replace under warrenty a little over a year ago, and they are leaking at both ends of both lines, just a thought. I just ordered Stinkers lifetime lines, good price, and I won't have to buy them again.

because i only have $145 to my name, and larry had a set layin around and i got em pretty cheap, and they're not covered under the warranty, and i know they'll leak again, but it'll at least bide me some time, and i'm gonna buy tony's later, and

i just need to know about if the cooler's full of oil (or i'm gonna find out the hard way)

I spoke with the tech that installed mine. I had him change the oil at the same time so he drained the oil first then removed the lines..he said maybe 6 oz of oil came out when he removed the lines.

Dan remove one line at a time at the block, and let it drain into the pan.

and yep like tnviper says, when you take it off the cooler you may get a few dribbles from there bo

For future reference if the oil leak is originating at the adaptor/line junction you can simply replace the 4 adaptors rather than the adaptors and lines. Adaptors are only about $5 from Dodge. The sealing o ring is in the adaptor. I've only seen one time where it was the actual hose that was defective.
