Been reading through some of the threads and see from time to time people having issues of extreme oil consumption but they do not notice any smoke or leaks on the ground.

Just posting this as a likely culprit. Check the Oil Cooler lines. The stock lines all leak at some point or another. I have Stinker's braided lines now and went through two sets of the stock lines prior.

It seems weird that you would not find oil on the ground or all over the engine bay but it seems that when these things are under pressure they blow oil out and some how it is not making a mess under the hood. That I can't explain and does not make sense but seems to be the case unless people are just not noticing the oil blow by.

I am only putting this out there because I have seen a good number of posts on this and most times it was the oil lines. Of course there could be engine problems as well but this is by far the easiest and most obvious to check if you are losing crazy amounts of oil with no other symptoms.

The oil cooler lines are on the passenger side front. If looking at the front of vehicle they can easily be seen with the hood up by looking between the headlight and radiator. If those lines are wet with oil where the metal part meets the rubber part, get rid of them, they are leaking.

I have gone through this as well, Thanks for putting this out as a reminder.

yep. my stockers took a dump just a bit before Stinker's lines came out.
not quiet as good, but needed them like now.

great peice of mind & a whole lot cleaner, to get the stocker P.O.S. lines replaced/updated.

Hey!!

How did this become a lets kiss Stinker's Ass Thread:confused:

Just kidding Stinker Rocks:rock:

I know this has been covered many a time, I was just seeing alot of it lately so I wanted to revisit it for those who may not have been aware that the oil lines suck.

A question to those of you that replied, becasue you guys are familiar with this. How can people be losing 2, 3, 4 qts of oil (if the oil cooler lines are the culprit) and not see any oil in the engine bay? Hitting the exhaust manifold and buring off maybe??? I mean, that's a shitload of oil and should be all over the place.

Good ???? anyone got an idea about this

Mine leaked before Stinker was Stinker and being Stinker ized had an entirely different meaning. But to answer your question....I've helped three others with leaking oil lines and simply looking up, by and around was easy to confirm there was an oil leak. One was a slow leaker and still obvious oil along the fuel tank and rear diff. Going through 2-4qts? Thats beyond what normally you'll see with leaking oil lines. Its a poor design for sure (great if you are working on an assembly line) but they are not ones to leak at an excessive rate or total failure. I've only heard of total failure one time.

Just repeating what others say they have been seeing as far as missing amounts of oil. I never saw anything like that either with my truck (1/2 qt or so). I also noticed a few little drips on the ground or saw the oil on the lines. That is why it baffles me too as far as people stating they are losing that much oil.
