The 2 05 QC's I had would start in the morning and hit max on the oil pressure gauge, The 06 hits about 3/4 of the gauge, normal driving when warm is about 50 lbs and Idle when warm about 25 lbs.
Does this sound about right for an 06 and was the 05 any different? Truck has 28k miles, last one I sold had 50k miles and bending the needle in the morning?:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

I've seen this discussed before and seems either/or the sending unit and/or the gauge are the real variables. I can tell you on mine when I plug in a reader to the OBD and look at my oil pressure it reads different than my gauge. Also, you'll notice when pressure is low at idle (mine is usually around 25 psi like yours) you give it some gas and the gauge response is delayed. With my reader there is no delay which tells me the ECU gets its info from another source other than the sender the gauge obtains its info. Long story short....I think your 'normal' :p

My 05 reads 25 at idle and 55 at cruising when warm and around 70 when cold on startup...

Oh and that knocking noise is someone at your door...;)
