Took the yellow beast out for the first time in months on the weekend, thought i better give her some love and attention.

Drove 25 minutes and the oil pressure guage dropped to zero!

no codes? hopefully just the oil pressure sending device, the engine is still running like clockwork..

You are bold. If I was driving and it hit 0 I would have it off before I could realize if the engine was running OK or not.

With that said usually things like this are the sending unit. I have also heard stories where it would begin working after shutting down, cooling and restarting.

Well, i sorta had to keep driving to get home off the freeway - by that time i figured it was ok???

hopefully!!!

Yup...sounds like the Sending Unit! I had the same problem. Pressure would go up a bit when you step on the throttle but would die off at a stop light....Seems to be a trend with these motors...:dontknow:

Sorta? :banghead: Then again, it was your decision to keep driving and only you would have paid the consequences. Personally, I don't get the concept. Good to hear nothing serious.

Really?? I've seen this happen a few times to my truck, I wasn't sure though since I had run it hard and then came to a stop, when it did this.

I would be very careful even if you do suspect its the Oil Sender. I have learned through past experiences that you can see oil on your dipstick but still blow a motor.

But it seems that we have had a few people post up with this very issue. And mine occured after WOT also....:(

Talk about something that'll get yer attention, toot sweet.

Glad yer engine is OK................
