Going to replace the oil pressure sensor today. Looks like very easy access from the top.

Question: I presume that the fitting will come out without puking huge amounts of oil, since the system is not pressurized when the engine is not running...will my presumption squirt me in the eye?

I just changed mine and no it wont squirt out but will leak some. Its easer from the bottom IMO.

Thank you...I can't get under mine due to lowering and old age...maybe I will jack her up with my new alum floor jack!

Any yes, before you safety hawks jump in, I will use jack stands too!

Gauge is reading 100 lbs of pressure at speed. Drops off at idle about 30 lbs. Just think that the sending unit is bad....

By the way the sensor was $56.45 at the Dodge Dealer parts dept...

Hope the problem isn't the gauge itself...

I recently found out that the gauge is reading 75 lbs of pressure at speed. Then it drops to 50 lbs o pressure at idle. Is that normal? I thought it should be at 75 lbs of pressure at both speeding and idle.

no it will be different , the more gas you give the more oil pressure

I think your readings are normal. That is what I am trying to get back to.

Get a mechanical guage. You should never trust anything else on a build like this. It's cheap, locally available and an easy install.
