Blake with the amount of Boost you are running....you want to run with the valve covers off....just pull 'em....

pull 'em?? come on man... I know you watched macguyver... just duct tape that shizzy down ... EZ if you want them to breath just poke a few holes in em :D

....957..... I'm just counting through... But before I go I personally would have checked the window washer fluid before replacing the motor... okay, I'll show myself out now.....

Doesnt someone make clear/see through valve covers? That would be pimpin'
Yes clear valve covers have exhisted for many years, the problem is the hot oil splashing on them makes it so you can't see through them anyway.

Bill.

Blake I ran into a problem on my 96 Ram when I started pumping 10 pounds of boost into it the crankcast would get pressurized also which would push oil out of the breathers and some seals. The way to fix this is to add a vacuum pump to the crankcase to draw the pressure out before oil gets pushed out.

The breather has a very small amount of smoke comin out of it. My mech says that the PCV is malfunctioning....so they are replacing it.

I really dont understand this part, by putting breathers on it you've pretty much did out with the crankcase ventilation. I think the breathers should have a hose on them that routes the crankcase fumes back into the intake tract so they can be consumed. That way you have crankcase pressure under a vacuum instead of just relying on atmospheric pressure...

come on guys, cut Blake some slack, he posts a serious question and all he gets are a bunch of jabs and digs to get a new motor, I not trying to be a party pooper, but Blake has been through the ringer with his truck, I would be very concerned with any issues that come up with the motor if I were him, Blake PM me I actually have a question for you about the belt and pulley set-up, you need to get a better breather system, possibly one that has a vacum pump or some kind assist, I am working on something would be more than happy to share it with you, honestly the EED system is nice, but not to be a dick there system could be made yourself with about 80 dollars of stuff from jegs, maybe I shouldn't have said that but I sympathize for Blake, just cause you got money doesn't mean you should overpay for things, Blake PM me I would like to talk to you on the phone, and I am heading down to Miami soon would like to meet up and see that bad boy
Asher
P.S. anybody feel the need to rip on me for my comments please don't hesitate:mad:

I'm nice to Blake....Just for the record :D :p

I ment it about the crankcase vacuum pump. I had 2 valve cover breathers, and a PCV line, and my motor would still push out oil when the boost got to about 10 lbs.

I know your nice to Blake, and probably ever one else on the board is to, but the man has 25k into his motor, he sees some oil under the truck, comes on here and asks a question, and instead of people trying to help they make lame ass jokes about him needing a motor, all I'm saying is if the shoe was on the other foot how would you feel, Nowwhat is the man and very respected on this board, I know I respect him, now imagine he gets his motor done and has all kinds of problems like Blake, it might not be that funny anymore, lets all give Blake a break, if that shit had happened to me, I would have introduced my truck to a gallon of super unleaded and a lite duraflame log

Bro I am real good friends with Blake and believe me he laughs about all the jokes and probes about his engine.

He knows he has went thru all the engine problems, and takes it in stride, he has a wonderful sense of humor.

But as far as the breather system everyone has great ideas, I know with the boost I am uh planning on running about 20psi:D I have 12an lines from each valve cover running to 2 catch cans with breathers so that the pressure under pressure can escape, if not it would blow every seal in the thing back to the factory.:D

The EED system is nice, I jsut dont think it will be marginally enough for the psi Blake is running, I'm no expert by any means and this FI is very new to me , but believe me with the problems I have had over the past year or so, I have learned tons!:D

The EED breather system will work fine for the boost level you are running.

Thanks Aruev...Im Pm'n ya. The ribs dont bother me so long as they gimme the help I need...included:D The EED system is on the way...the problem has not happened since so I dont know....I think the breather was loose cuz it was upside down and I just tightened it up.

With the forged internals.....time to back down the boost and up the shot.....

Blake can dial back to 750 rwhp for the street....let's be real...you can't use more than that on street tires.....then do a 200 shot at the track.....10 sec......

I can't handle 620 on street tires...how does anyone do it?
