Alright I am using a qt to a qt in a half of oil between changes. Why? Where is it going? :dontknow: :dontknow: A suggestions:dontknow:

You could have bad piston rings and it's being burnt in the combustion chamber . . .

It could be gumming up in your heads and turning to sludge. . .

Your catch-can could be installed improperly and the blow-by is still being routed back into the throttle body/intake manifold.

Catch can---- I am not sure I have 0 oil build up in throttle body and no oil in catch can.

Piston ring is what I am leaning towards....is that warranty work you think?

I'm not sure bro. I think I read somewhere a while back where Dodge/Chrysler said 1qt consumption is "acceptable".

BTW Mark, I think several 04's had their oil cooler lines leak . . . I THINK there's a TSB or recall associated with it.

Well you are just full of good news today:D Yeah I am going to check it when I get home. The only reason I posted this I was racing the guy that works for me in his Jag S- Type and he said I was buning oil......:dontknow: :dontknow: So I though well maybe I will post up and see..... I don't having any oil spots in the garage. No smoke.....:dontknow:

If it's burning oil you will get no where with Chrysler...most other car makers are the same..........a quart every 1000 miles is considered normal for a gasoline motor..........the service mgr at my dealer just told me yesterday he had 2007 diesel using 1 QT every 500 miles...he turned it in to get the ok for warranty and Chrysler said that was within specs..:dontknow: :(

Yup. ;)

When things don't go well, just remember that I have a really huge wanker and things will seem much better! :D :p

My truck needs around a qt every 2500 miles or so, but i am not worried...every vehicle i have ever owned has consumed some oil. I dont think you need to worry just yet, if your truck starts eating more then i'd get it checked.

(Knock on wood)

Mine doesn't use/burn/consume/leak a drop. I stretch my oil changes out to 4k and mine still reads at the full line before I remove the drain plug. . .

just a small word to the wise...watch it closely...me truck had had an oil burning problem before i bought it...an now is the reason me an my dealer is 99% sure is why im having to rebuild my motor....an dodge isnt doing jack shit about it...check your oil cooler lines an make sure your cooler isnt stoped of gum'd up

i used a qt to a qt & a half between oil changes. switched to Amsoil & it dried up
