As some as you know I quit running dive boats in the oilfield to be with the family. But my old company just called me and offered me 600 dollars a day and I only hold a 200 ton master. My buddy just got a raise to 680 a day for a 200 ton boat. I here every company is bumping there pay up.

About time they started paying hard working guys good money for being away from there family.

even though I really miss working out there, I am still going to sit in my cabin with my wife every night unless things get relly bad money wise

Wish I had a 200 ton master, I would love a job like that... but I don't have a wife or kids to deal with.

I know companies that are paying 100 ton masters over 400 a day

i hold a 1600 ton OCEANS master's licencse...life is good.:D
thinking about going to a 28 day on 28 day off schedule.

I knew you held a big lic, if CALDIVE would have had a 28 and 28 schedual I would have stayed out there. I know Tiberon has a 21 and 21 schedual. I like the dive boats because all of them has phone , internet, and sat tv. Are you still on the same boat as last year? Hows Fouchon

working out of cameron now, was glad to get out of fourchon...running out near the flower gardens, great fishin'. i hear they are going to start drilling off florida, work would be closer to home for ya', or did you move?

yea I moved. I live in Maggie Valley NC now. Me and the wife sold everyything and moved to our cabin. We had a second home up here for years and just decided to move up here. I dont get to do much surfing anymore but I do alot of hiking, hunting, and whitewater rafting. I do get to snowboard everynight in the winter as we live 10 minutes from the ski lodge.

Were you flying out of Fourchon, PHI say 6-8 months ago? I was flying out of there for a while, kept seeing a RED RC in the parking lot. Seemd like it never moved. I posted a while back asking who it was for and never got an answer.

Im currently in High Island 138. about 15 miles out. Can see galveston at night. I like my 14 and 14, anything more than that is just too long. I pulled 21 last hitch working over for my relief, if I had hair I would have pulled it out.

I did the boat life years ago, never made it to the wheel house. Gave it up before hand. But what the hell is a 1600 ton OCEANS master's license? It sounds really big and important. I think if I had one and was single I would be a carnival crusie ship Captain looking for all those single lonely ladies. Or am I over thinking this?

no not me,no way in hell i'd leave my ten there LOL i drive a 92' honda civic back and forth to work. on your question about the licencse. 1600 ton covers vessel up tp about...say 350', next step up would be UNLIMITED,which is what you would need for the "ships". OCEANS is an endorsement which lets you sail any where in the world.

Zack you need to come with me brother ! 100 to 150 per year........... of course no time for freinds family or the truck.......................

I am thinking about going back out there. I have to get my twic card as They were just coming out when I quit. I am looking for a dive company that will give me a 21 and 21 schedual. I dont mind being away from the family 6 months out of the year but 8 months is just too much

no hurry on the TWIC,deadlines been extended till next april.might as well come out while the money is good.

If you go get your TWIC card do it in Fourchon. I was in and out in 5 minutes. It came in within 2 weeks where as every where is taking closer to 2 months.

Im a mud engineer. You should come be a rough neck on a deep water job. These guys dont even know how to trip pipe. Iron rough necks have made them lazy.
