Old Friend Steps Down

NEW YORK — Veteran CBS Washington hand Bob Schieffer, who has anchored "Face the Nation" since 1991, said Tuesday he plans to step down from the Sunday morning political talk show with the inauguration of a new president.



Bob and I were at WBAP Television (Ft. Worth, TX) together in the early 70's.

He was always a sterling guy with no political agenda's, only a desire to communicate the facts of the day.

He has been a journalist of the highest caliber...

If you have been a fan of his, you have excellent taste. Many here have a bad taste for the media...Bob would be one that could be admired.

Always liked him, don't watch the show anymore, but I know he will be missed.

He represents the epitome' of the objective reporter......

He has my respect.... and that's saying something......
