I've got just shy of 19K on my clutch and recently did a very hard launch where I roasted first gear but held the burn out for close to 100' then nailed second gear, I couldn't believe it but the truck hooked up like never before pulled hard for a few seconds before the tires broke free again!! I was sure the clutch was gonna slip like crazy but this was when I knew something was up. I've bad this notion for the past month or so (I've had the truck since Oct. 06) that the previous owner might have installed the centerforce clutch/fidanza flywheel combo. Here's why; I picked the truck up with 13K miles and it had an intake, magnaflow catback and extensive stereo mods, the previous owner spared no expense with the stereo and the truck was obviously kept up to my high standard. We'll, to explain, since new (to me) I noticed the truck stalls off idle very easily and revs way quicker then my old Hemi Magnum with some bolt-ons. To explain myself further about the stalling off idle, the best way to describe the truck is that it is the hardest vehicle I've ever owned to start from a standing start under light throttle, like in traffic. The revs drop so quickly but if I lightly blip the throttle the revs build so quickly with the clutch partially engaged that I sound like and ass sometimes! I've driven one other SRT-10 RC and my clutch feels "lighter" and the truck seems to rev very quickly, it sounds like an exotic at times!! So a lot of you guys who acquired your trucks used might have aftermarket clutches! I do, however, have a question afterall. How can I tell for sure if the clutch or flywheel has been upgraded? What will an aluminum flywheel look like from the little access hole in the tranny when under the truck? How 'bout the clutch, anyway to tell? I was thinking of upgrading the clutch months ago just because but I have reason to think it was already taken care of before I bought the truck! Anyone else have an issue like mine??
