Yesterday I managed to totally wreck my pride and joy!!!
My 2006 SRT10!!!
Travelling north that rainy friday morning, I lost control of the car.
A heavy downpour and a shitty highway that couldn't redirect the water from it's surface caused us to loose grip. And maybe the Pirellis, they have been quite slippery when wet. Speed was about 90 km's ( about 60 miles )
Tried to drive on "the ridges" of the lane but started sliding and went sideways into the divider vegetation.
While felling tress and bushes we did a 180 and stopped about one meter short of going into meeting traffic ?
My girlfriend and me just looked at each other and asked, "are you alive?".
Then everything became a fullblown rescue operation with ambulances, police and rescue vehicles.
We were transported to the emergency room and was examinated and cleared in about an hour.
Today we are feeling pretty banged up, nothing broken, some cuts and bruises. And I managed to bite down so hard I cracked a couple of teeth.
Good thing we were travelling in a real piece of steel and not some lightweigth tincan.
Sorry to say I suspect the car is a write off!!!
Thats a shame since the EU do not allow this kind of car to be registered as a lightweight truck anymore.
Strange thing is about two weeks ago I owned 3 cars and is now down to none!!! Sold my 57 and 60 Broughams and now I totalled the Dodge!!
So I guess you wont be seeing me here anymore, might buy a Toyota IQ :D
Have great summer ( AND LIFE!!!! )

So sorry to hear about the wreck. Glad your OK.

Blame it on the Pirelli's. Mine sucked with the slightest rain. Those tires will never find there way back onto my truck. Mine had me so concerned, I changed them out and put on General Grabbers. It wasn't due to low tread either. Still have three in the garage with plenty of life in them. Just not on my truck.

Glad y'all are OK. That was a nasty hit looking at the damages. It looks like part of the cab structure buckled and shifted.

seems the truck took one nasty beating
glad your both ok.

Those pirelli's can do some nasty things with you on (very) wet roads.... I have some experience myself on that part. My truck is being repaired as we speak.

Glad your OK...

It can be fixed, really!

Well damn i'm sorry to hear this.. I guess the next best thing you could
do is part it out. I would be willing to buy a unscathed rim? I don't think
any of those rims have rash but maybe just scratches?

Thats what I was thinking . Looks like just body panel damage. Don't know how it works over there but over here most insurance companies will total the vehicle and let you buy at back for penny's on the dollar. I am sure fellow VTCoA members would help you get the parts you need to rebuild .

Glad you guys are ok

Thanks gang!!!!

Thanks for all of you caring about us!

Car is in Sweden and I suspect my insurance company will give me nothing.
Still own them about $22 000 + tax on the car and that might be the value of it, what do I know.
So for all of you willing to buy it, you have to calculate freight as well!!

Cheers

So happy that you two are OK! Very scary situation.

Don't leave...stick around the site...maybe get another somehow???

While the Pirelli's are not much help in wet conditions, the truck can be evil in wet conditions with any kind of rubber. There are dozens of stories on this site about problems in wet conditions, and many of them are with tires other than Pirelli.

Again sorry for your accident...but it may be a good warning to others about the wet weather handling of this truck!

Sorry to hear this man but glad your OK! I hope you can fix the truck.
We didn't have problems to register the Ram trucks as lightweight trucks in Holland.

New EU rules?

The people I got mine from, Exclusive Cars in Stockholm, was having some problems with getting one in from the US. New rules regarding weight, passangers and cargo capacity ratios.
These hysterical people in the EU administration are trying to impose some new shit every second so we, the working class, will get the illusion they are doing something for the huge salaries we pay them!
Getting more info that media warned people about diesel-fuel on the road after we crashed. Well that certainly won't help when its wet either!!
CYA

If you hit diesel fuel on the road it does not matter what you are driving.
Rebuild your truck.....

Since your wrecked truck is there...maybe you should think about doing everything you can to fix it. It appears that getting another one in will be difficult. Maybe yours even after repairs will be very valuable since more can't be brought in!!!
