Opinions....billet main caps?

Blake they should be able to make a few calls and see them within the week , then a day or so for the machining. Months is not acceptable, at this point it would become baseball bat time. 2 engines, they need to bust ass for you.
 
yeah.......its disappointing that they would sacrifice their integrity and recommend NOT doing the build right just so they can get the thing out the door......its obvious at this point.

If that is really how you feel then I would be looking for a new builder. You will always be second guessing what these guys are doing now. You need quality, not speed. You don't want to have the engine that they "just wanted to get out of the door".
 
this truck will be 4 sale as soon as I get it backk......dont want it anymore. Im gonna take my ass pounding 40k loss and move onward...I went and drove that yellow fever Henessey TT in Ft lauderdale.....that thing was FAST! It was a Venom800 TT that some old guy bought and traded in with 2k miles on it....they woulda sold it to me for 36k out the door....I have more than that IN my motor! what a crock! Anybody know the difference in the 800TT andthe 1000TT? Is it just more boost? That phugger was impressive.....AND IT DIDNT SMOKE! aint that some shit Walt....too bad it was banana!
 
The venom 800 is supposed to have better pistons and rods, running around 10 -12 lbs boost, but I think its more like 7 lbs actually. and the only difference is the engine internals Blake, the venom 1000 should have full blown internals running a true 12-14lbs boost.
I actually think the 800 uses just different pistons to run the 7 lbs boost.
 
All I know is that ive driven some fast vehicles and this thing was definately fast.....the boost guage was hitting upwards of 10 lbs and it was breaking traction first,second AND third. I dont know if its sold or what but for 36k its very nice.......just cant take the yellow tho...

Oh what the hell, you have been Fu*ked so much I don't think you can take another screwing.

If you are not going to keep it, why worry if it's got billet mains. It will last as long as it takes you to sell it. Hell, there are a lot of big block chevys and fords running in the HP range you are planning and they only have 2 bolt mains. If I buy this Superformance Cobra it will have a stroked 460 (512) that puts out 650 HP and has 2 bolt mains with a cast crank.

If you are planning on keeping it, go for the billet. If not, screw it.
 
First thing we should know is the number is the Hennessey builds are not hp numbers

A Venom 800 means = it is good for 800 miles until it lets go

A Venom 1000 means = you think of 1000 ways to shove your foot up John H's ass.

Blake...knock this whinny..I am going to sell my truck shit off...you are going to have a bad ride when you are done....and probably the fastest QC in the country......It will be a 4 year old truck by then....but think of it as a classic...
 
We pm'd back and forth alot today, he's really really upset, he just wants his truck done an back and I for one can understand his frustration.

That quote caught my attention as well. Not good when they want to get you out the door. Translation...something will get messed up because they dont care and just want you out.
 
Blake, For piece of mind I would have the guys building your engine break it in and rung out on the dyno before installing it back in your truck.
NOT run on the chassis dyno after install. If they dont have a engine dyno then call around and find out who does and have the yahoo engine builders pick up the bill.
