OPPS

These guys were flying a long sortie and they did a practice approach first and silenced the gear warning. Well, the next time around, guess what, no gear warning tone and forgot the gear. Should have kept the Bones in the guard.

Ummm... yes! I believe that qualifies!!! DOH!!!

Air Farce Pilots! Sheesh!

I have been to Diego, the guys there must have loved being stuck on the island for four days with nothing to do! Probably got good tans though!

11 hours isn't that long! At least it shouldn't be long enough to forget how to land!!! :D:D:D

Man, that has got to be the most beautiful design ever for a airplane.

I wonder how long its going to take the pilot's great-great grandchildren to pay-off that bill. :dontknow: :D

We already put one on a pole outside the Robins Museum!

At airshows, we got more attention than the fighters. The Bone was a sexy plane. We always got the best questions from on-lookers. With the bomb-bay doors open, One question: "Where do the bombs come out?" A: "Oh, out the top of the airplane, we eject them high above us so we can get away in time for the explosions."

If I remember right there is only about 90 to 94 of these left flying and they are all the B models. No B-1's left at all.

What timing, see work email below:

All in the wing are invited to the Museum of Aviation B1B dedication ceremony on Wed, 10 Jan at 1400 in front of the Eagle Building, Museum of Aviation. The aircraft has been completely repainted with Midnight Train to Georgia as the nose art painted by the world renoun artists Mickey Harris and Dru Blair. Please mark your calendars.

116 ACW/PA

Dedication is tomorrow.

The B-1 and Concorde are my 2 favorite aircraft in the world.
Such insane engineering on both.

Think about this for a second: Concorde was designed and built using slide rules and pencils. No computers or calculators back then. :)

Same with the SR-71 Blackbird.
