Optima Yellow

I bought an Optima Yellow, but I realized it's for audio/video purposes and Reds are for trucks: so what should I do? get rid of it and get a Red or could I just use it anyway?:dontknow:

use it....... yellow are 750 cold cranking amps while red's are a 1000..... should be fine.

Speaking of batteries..........what do you guys reccomend? Optima, die hard............please dont tell me Napa.....I know they suck!! Mine is just shy of 4 years old..........and they only seem to last that long here.

i haven't found that many batteries last beyond their warranties....... i'm considering the optima's because they're a gel instead of liquid....... might be better, certainly more expensive.

hehe of course I got it because of its color! and the cold cranking matched the stock battery, then I found out the truck version is the red one..

The yellow top is great for deep cycle duty, e.g. powering high draw stereo gear, auxiliary lights, a winch, etc. The red top is good for daily use, normal starting duty. If you have the yellow, go ahead and use it -- it should be fine. Which battery is best? IMO, I would go with the stocker, next in line would be the red top and then if I had high draw equipment, a yellow top.

I would put the yellow one in,it will be the last battery you buy! You CAN NOT kill it,I've had two of them in my last two trucks and this one is gettinga YELLOW optima shortly.
For example two winters ago my alarm sucked the juice out of my alarm and the battery went dead and at that time it was very cold -35c out and that Yellow Optima froze,I just pulled it out thawed it out for a day inside,recharged it never another problem,I also used to kill it dead all the time doing car shows,running the stereo and the air compressors,just boost it or recharge it and away you go,Those dry cell Optima's are by far the last battery you will buy!!
SO put the yellow one in,it has the same CC as the stocker,looks awesome in a YF,and you will never have to buy another one,also too,buy the aluminum polished Optima battery cover,they are sweet!!

I'll stick it back into my Yellow, and I'm planning on installing a compressor too.

Hey Mr Hd, you'd better put some jumpstart cables on your truck, you could need them when your crappy china speakerphone, backup sensor, hid lights will drain your battery, it's just matter of time :dontknow: (not to mention your electric dildo equipped driving seat!):rofl: :bootyshake:

Allright, this peaked my interest... I just started looking at ebay for different polished battery trays. Any suggestions on what the "best" one is???
