I've been reading up on it here, and it sounds like most of y'all went to suncoast or DC for the transmission upgrades. I think I read of one or two folks going elsewhere, but that's about it. Has anyone else had luck with 'other guys'? Cant really justify driving out to suncoast or DC-thought about getting a suncoast shipped and installed locally maybe? No idea if that's even possible/feasible. Just looking at my options. (Eventually planning on puttin in an SC, that's why I'm looking to upgrade) Thanks for any input/ideas. CJ

I would also, blake just blew his second tranny:(

Scott,
jrgnd used someone in VA, and I don't believe he has reported any problems.

Either of them can ship one to you. You'll need to have it adjusted locally but you may have a suncoast dealer more local to you (we have one in Atlanta) who can install and adjust. If you call Suncoast they should be able to tell you. I have a Suncoast in mine. Needs some more adjustment but otherwise happy with it.

Can't believe Blake blew another one! Stinker, do you know how well Suncoast is handling it? I'm soon to pull a Suncoast out of my brother's duramax cause 5th gear is fried.

Joe

Suncoast has partnerships with other dealers around the US. I know they had one in GA only 30 minutes from me, but I wanted to see their shop and get the full Suncoast treatment. They have no problem sending work to their partnerships with other shops.

Speaking of Suncoast:
God Bless Joe and his Family!

Joseph Hilton Webb 10/21/44 — 12/12/06 Joseph Hilton Webb, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend to many. Unexpectedly went to be with the Lord and his mother on December 12, 2006, doing what he loved best, diving. Joe opened Webb’s Transmission in 1969 and Suncoast Converters and Diesel Performance Inc. in 1989. Joe was a brilliant man in the transmission industry and the diesel arena. He was also an avid diver. It was his true passion in life. He loved the water and visited as many places of dive interest as time would allow in his already busy life.

Joe was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Baton Rouge, La., to Wilda Webb (who went to be with the Lord Nov. 26, 2006) and James Webb. Being the son of a railroad engineer, he spent much of his life in Mississippi. He came to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., on his honeymoon in 1963 where he planted his roots to raise his family. He was a much loved and a well known man in our community. He will be deeply missed by many.

Baker's Transmission in Manassas, VA...I drive my truck everyday and have done 11.8s passes.

But I would go with Joe cause he really know's his stuff.

Thanks for the replies, guess I'll look into everything a bit more. CJ
