I would keep it simple, then move on. Plug wire first, then the plug itself. Go from there.:dontknow:

How is the truck running? I had this code for #3. The truck was running like crap. I pulled the plug and it had lost it's gap. Changed the plugs and no problems since. Here is a pic.

Like crap... I can really tell it when I get on it hard.. It doesn't pull hard like it normaly does:dontknow:

put your fingers on the injector plugs. you should feel a definite hard clicking from the injector being fired. see if #7 has the same hard click as the other cylinders. check the other bank (pass side) and see if any others are doing it. there are 5 drivers in the ecm that control these.
if the injector isnt firing, usually the plug inst either. pull your plug, and chec the gap too, and ground the plug to the block and have someone crank it over to verify spark.
usually if you have a misfire on 1 cylinder bank, then you will have one on another the other side too. we have ran into this with the split second controllers when they get ANY moisture near them, as well as others that are mounted in the engine bay area. i STRONGLY recommend (from experience) that you move your controller into the cab of the truck , or make a water proof sheild for it.
take a hair drier and dry your controller for about 10 minutes all 6 sides to dry any moisture that might exist.

Since it is still running like crap pull your spark plug and take a look. Also can you describe how you were driving when the truck started running rough? Plus do all that stuff that Boomer said.

checking codes

What do you need to check for codes? Do you only have to check if the engine light comes on? Sorry for the stupid questions - I'm new at these. Thanks!

If you get a check engine light (CEL) then just turn the key off and on 3 times. The code will be displayed in the odometer. If there is no code then it will read none.
