Paddle Shifter

To shift or not to shift, that is the question.

For me it was really about the quad cab, so I got the auto with it. But alas I am spoiled. I like having my hand free when I drive through town.

"Hi Dale,

We have a conversion kit for your 05 Dodge with an air bag steering wheel. If you go to the photo gallery on our website, click on the street section and scroll through some pictures, you will see some cars (Chrysler 300, Ford Mustang) with the air bag application. You can get black anodized or polished billet paddles.

The cost of the kit is $2,699 and we have them in stock.

I followed it up with a phone call. He confirmed that for the $2,699.00 we get the electronics, actuator, and paddles. Estimated install time is 1 day. After all is said and done on my current work, I may have to give this a whirl.

Here's one that I'd been looking at for another project. It's about half the price, but who knows what it would take to adapt it to the factory truck steering wheel.

Eric,
I looked into them, but the unit was not compatible with the airbag steering wheel, As you stated. I am not sure what would be required to make it work. The overall applications is very similiar though. The paddles operate a actuator which operates the lever arm on the transmission.
