Paddle Shifters anyone?

like i said i can definately set you up with a 6 speed and you can shift all you want via the floor mounted shifter. It would be a factory like install and the truck would perform flawlessly.

that conversion would get messy fast... besides installing the pedal removing my column shifter ripping out the center console among other things, I'd be better off buying the M5 smg 7 speed tranny and having advance adapters modify it to fit my truck LOL (that'd prolly cost 10K+ LOL)

besides one reason I got rid of my RC is I need to tow my land cruiser and atv's... rc isn't going to tow 10,000lb's ... not even on a good day

Thanks Bone... after seeing video one I want that 572ci 620 hp engine
after seeing video 2 I want to go buy a trophy truck :p
they got some great stuff there... I like the overdrive units, I have a similar setup on my land cruiser... but it's crawler gear or CRAWLER gear lol

Correct me if I'm wrong:
I think SVTFreak was talking about a floor-mounted automatic setup.

I have a 6 speed RC and I want a auto. wanna talk about doing a complete swap in both truck. it would consist of the dash(maybe), wiring harness, and a custom drive shaft for each but our shop could handle this. if you like let me know.

Blaine

You stand corrected :p

The whole reason why I say all of this is because I have a donor truck, mine. I would like to put a auto from a QC in my RC. so I would have all the parts and the turnaround should be less than a week depending on the driveshaft being custom. I think 10K lbs. is pretty heavy and still exeeds towing capacity in the auto in a QC. they are only rated at 7500lbs I think..... but I have towed a Lightning on a open car hauler with my 1500lb golf cart in the bed. so give or take that was 4550lb for the Lightning, 1800lb trailer and 1500 golf cart for a grand total of 7850 plus all my racing gear. so probably close to 8K lbs. and I managed 10mpg. on a 200 mile round trip.

So I would be up for the challenge of making this swap. refer here to what we have been doing with the Lightning's so a SRT will not be any different. www.psimotorsprts.com

Blaine- the PSI Motorsports link doesn't have any pics/info of the L with the swap.

Tidnab- I got a little confused by this:

Floor-mounted auto? 6-on-the-tree? :D

Wouldn't it be possible to commandeer the radio volume rocker switch on the back of the steering wheel or the cruise control accelerate rocker on the front of the wheel to take place of the paddles?

I want to do this too. I would about kill for a paddle shifter on the column while still being able to have the auto option. If someone sets up a group buy for something like this, I'm seriously in.

Just a ? for you auto guys. Why is it that no one does a manual valve body in these thing. I don't care for autos, but the two that I do have I put in reverse pattern manual valve bodies so I can drive them like a stick and they hit hard when you make the shift. A manual valve body with a ratchet shifter can be alot of fun.

Don't they do the manual valve bodies for the newer stuff, mine are good old 727's. Gets rid of kick down cables and all that automated crap.....:D

SVTfreak you can install an auto without going thru all the wiring mess, this company makes the kit and no computer needed

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm

its down towrds the middle of the page or so.

Its not a bad swap jsut time thats all.

And yes a manual body is a good way to go for performance.

But on the towing , I tow regularly at least 10,000 lbs with our QC, from NC to ohio, and even to Fla, and have no problems at all, and thats with an enclosed trailor.

yea but i dont wanna come off that 5k to do it. So i was thinking that if a QC guy wanted a 6 speed then i would offer up an option.... for far less money.

I thought there were a few people that purchased suncoast transmissions... You may want to post in the wanted section... I'd think there's a handful of guys that have the stock trannys(lieing around)
