Paddle shifters

:eek:HOLY CRAP! Dost my eyes deceive me? Did that list just include T-56? I seriously want a heads up display like in the Vettes.

1. It's not out yet.
2. I don't think they have a system for the stock (rectangular) steering columns.
3. You will still have to use your clutch.

And if the MasterShift guys are reading this:
Not everyone is into goth.
Different designs for the paddles please.

well if you still have to use the clutch and they dont have that part figured out then that sucks.... they need to have somethign control the clutch as well... but than again if you had a machine shifitng your gears no more trouble getting itgo gears .... missing a shift.. we'll hopefully they have that figured out

It said on the site they are working on a design compatible with airbaged steering :) If they get a design that works, our CNC guys like Boomer can make us a replacement paddle.

i like the ideal that u can stack shifts. i have seen a few buggies with the pushbutton shifters but never paid much attention to them :dontknow:

its cool how you can anticipate the next shift, mash the button and it will wait until the clutch is pressed..good for down shifting around curves.

SWEET!!!!

I am having a kit put on my buggy next summer... it has reverse lockout (as in reverse is not controlled from paddles)

Upshift is the paddle, and downshift is the red button.

You will allways have to use the clutch still, there is not a system out that I am aware of that will operate the clutch for you.

They are great for the duning I do... especially when I am really heavy into a side of a dune or bowl, and need to be fully concentrating on my line.

I am going to have Suspenions Unlimited install the kit, it will cost me around $2500 for the installed...

Those are a different style of transmissions than will ever be available for our trucks.... they are called "Sequential Manual GearBoxes", they operate much along the lines of a motorcycle transmission. Most are of the Trans-Axle style.

Mendeola makes a S4 and S5, Albin also makes the AGB SEQ and AGB10 SEQ, off road transaxles, and yes... you can shift them without operating the clutch.... to a certain extent...its not reccomended... these range is price from $15k to $30k just for the tranny!! and they wont work with our trucks to start with... hense their names "trans-axles"

If you looking at a exotic car tranny... your probably looking at a $80-90k tranny.. and F-1... who the heck knows... $100k+????

I really want an Albin for my dune buggy... but I am not willing to drop $30k on a tranny.... my Mende MD4-HD has served me well... and I abuse the hell out of it.... :D it has seen a heck of alot more abuse than the trannies in our trucks will ever see....

My MD4-HD, which is a standard H-Pattern Trans-Axle alone is $8-9k.

A buddy of mine has a S5 in his dune car, and blew it up, and broke his ring gear when he haulled ass up to a top of a hill, side stepped the clutch, did a 180 on single rear tire, using his turning brakes, and ended up coming down in the wrong gear.... and BOOOM!!!
